MIDI sync causes audio glitches in delay line?

by corywest » Sun Dec 07, 2014 9:51 pm

Took me a while to figure this out.

When I set Solaris -> MIDI - > ClkSrc set to "Ext", and then send MIDI sync from Ableton, the Solaris tempo correctly syncs to the Ableton session tempo. However I get audio glitches in any patches that have the delay effect enabled. If I switch the MIDI Clk setting to "Off", the glitches stop, but the delay line no longer follows the tempo.

I'm using Ableton 9, Solaris 1.2, the MIDI DIN plugs (not USB), and the MIDI ports on my RME Fireface.

Any ideas?
