Re: Developer Fund Update - Important!

Ben’s concept of crowdfunding with goals and tiers also a great idea. Not sure how many users check this forum but being able to send everyone a link to a website that lays it all out is a good idea.

Re: Developer Fund Update - Important!

Hello John, Just made a donation to Jim Hewes. He did a fantastic invaluable job indeed. Obviously the above news is great news and personally I will chip in when you need me too, 200 or higher would not be an issue for me or probably most of us ( I mean we all own the Lamborghini of synths here). ...

Re: Developer Fund Update - Important!

To clarify, not interested in using Solaris as a sampler but it would be fun to have some samples for sound design. I just can’t get me head around the Hex file upload process sample robot might be overkill. I personally just want a super easy FAST workflow to upload a sample oscillator. A simple ut...

Re: Developer Fund Update - Important!

Perhaps you could petition sample robot to create a Solaris edition like they did for the Prophet X? That would be easiest. Hi David, I cannot find any editor done by SampleRobot for the Prophet X. Could you provide a link? Thanks, John B. Here you go: https://samplerobot.com/blogs/news/samplerobot...

Re: Developer Fund Update - Important!

The continuing development push for the Solaris is incredible. Thank you John (and Jim)! Regarding the DSP, I would not invest in any development on the sample object until sample loading is streamlined. Perhaps you could petition sample robot to create a Solaris edition like they did for the Prophe...

Re: OLED text displays

To those of you who have been asking about having OLED displays for your Solaris - there is a display that we could possibly make work in the Solaris. The parts cost from Mouser would be $750 (plus tax & shipping) for 5 of the displays. I’m not sure what other modifications or adapter we would ...

Re: Human readable Bank and Preset names

We have a beta OS in testing that now allows “human readable” preset and bank names. Please contact me if you are interested in testing it. (Note that you need to back up your presets data before changing any names, as the currently released OS will not be able to handle them. Only use with v 1.4.1...

Re: Solaris future questions.

With the industry moving towards more ARM -- better tools, cheaper, better price/performance -- like the H9000 and Quantum, how much work would it be to move the existing code onto an ARM setup vs. trying to continue down the SHARC path? There would be other advantages too such as a larger base of ...

Re: other Solaris hardware ideas

Yes, I know - although I'm not a big believer in the Gearslutz audience as being those who are interested in high-end instruments. I'm not familiar with Muffwiggler, so I’ll have a look there. I did send out an email a little while ago to all of the Solaris owners I have in my database, but it’s on...

Re: Developer Fund

I would *** INSTANTLY *** pay Jim Hewes for the job already done on the Solaris OS and Solarium further development ( provided he has the time ) The Solarium approach is the most effective for a complex synth like Solaris, Jim has a Solaris and has successfully tweaked the OS for the benefit of all...
