Re: Can you............

What do you mean by “track this”? Automate it?
Manually moving it will work, of course (you modulate the Crossfade position). To have it move without manual operation, you would have to use the 2-D Looping Envelope.

Hi Solaris Owners!

I’d like to know what reverbs everyone is using - to see if there’s a general consensus as to which one works best for Solaris sounds, and your uses in general.

Thanks,
John B.

Re: CS-80 Voice Architecture with the Solaris

Thanks for posting your article! I'd like to correct two things mentioned there that I hope you can edit: 1) you get 10 voices with the Solaris, not 20 (unless you have 2 Solarises/Solari) 2) there are 2 ring modulators in the Solaris - ring mod is but one of four possible Amplitude Modulation optio...

Not just pressing Enter, but hold it down steadily until the special menu appears. Are you doing that?

Re: Arp not clocking/triggering correct.

I’ve sent M-Prod a new beta OS that should fix this issue - waiting to hear back from him.

Re: SPIF to DAW

You shouldn’t need to do anything special - connecting the optical will automatically slave the Solaris to the input. The chips will take the incoming clock rate and convert it to 48k, which is the only rate that works for the digital I/O (so, if you then took the optical output, you’d see that the ...

Re: Daya Wheel doing unexpected things

I wouldn’t expect the residue to impact things, but I’m not a PCB specialist. The evidence as you describe points to a data line being affected somewhere, as all the switches and encoders are scanned repeatedly, and you are indicating that something is awry in the data bus that is carrying the data ...

Re: Daya Wheel doing unexpected things

Hi Kamil - here’s the same response I posted in the other bug report: Hmmmm....I believe the old problem had to do with a MIDI loop happening in the Solaris. This was changed a few years ago, but things are so much better with the current v1.3.1 OS, which I assume you have installed now? Unfortunate...

Hmmmm....I believe the old problem had to do with a MIDI loop happening in the Solaris. This was changed a few years ago, but things are so much better with the current v1.3.1 OS, which I assume you have installed now? Unfortunately, the things you are describing sound like a hardware issue. I defin...

Still amazing to me that it looks like only half of the number of Solaris owners have downloaded the v1.3.1 update... :-(

Re: Solaris Strings

Yes, exactly! The Solaris needs things in a numerical order, starting with 0 for Banks, 001 for Sample Pools, and 00 for Presets.
Of course you can rename/renumber things to move them around, so, for example, you could move Bank0 to Bank9, just as long as you have another Bank0 in place.

Re: Solaris Strings

Please check your Samples folder and make sure that there are SamplePools 1 &2 in there, and that the Violins are the only SamplePool-3.txt file in there. Also, make sure you have v1.3.1 OS installed.

How to get finer resolution when dialing up parameter values

I had a owner write me today asking how he could get certain tempos when adjusting the BPM knob in the Arp section. Noting that this moved by increments of 5, I wrote him the following response, which I think will be helpful to others here in the community: Whenever you have a situation with a param...

Re: Could this be done?

We are looking at the new MPE extension to the MIDI spec which basically describes a Mode 4 type function.
