New Rev 2 Solaris Hardware!

For those who don’t know, we are working on the first ever hardware revision of the Solaris, since it was released in 2011! The new board will use the latest compatible SHARC DSP chips, and will also add the ability to use the new Fatar Polyphonic Aftertouch keyboard. Previous Solaris owners will be...

Re: Limited, Double Poly Mode

Dynamic allocation would be great, but it seems that it was not practical for this project. I'm not sure why.
We are fixed to the architecture as we have it now, but the new Rev 2 board should give us a few more voices.

How To Load Samples Addendum

There has been some confusion due to the changes made in the Solaris OS some years ago, but never clearly documented, so I have put this Addendum together. Let me know if you have any additional questions regarding the Sample Pool load process. John B. Loading Samples in Solaris.pdf.zip Here’s a ver...

Factory Sample Folder

Here’s an updated Sample Folder for the Solaris. You can copy this folder over to your CF card, replacing the older Samples folder. However, if you have samples in the current folder and would like to keep them, I would suggest changing the name of the old Samples folder to something else, such as '...

Yes, it would be nice. We will have to see what can be done with the Rev 2 hardware.

SysEx Update for version 2.1 OS

This is MIDI SysEx for the latest v2.x of the Solaris OS. If you have the latest version (v2.1.0.1), then this is for you! It is officially SysEx v1.3.0, which may seem confusing, but it includes the most recent sequencer and arpeggiator changes in the v2.1 OS software.

Re: More about the new Sequencer functions

Been playing with the new sequencer function and am having a ball! It would be great if we could chain sequences that are different in some kind of way, or chain different presets that have different sequences ? Think equinoxe 7 of jean michel jarre What would be great, too, is if we could choose t...

Re: Control Display Question: Contrast / Dimming

No, the only display that you can adjust contrast would be the central LCD unit, and you have to open up the synth to access it. For the 2x40 text displays, I recommend the OLED versions, as they are directly replaceable, and give a better contrast. I use the following part from Sunlike Display: AL4...
