Re: Question about Samples and Noise

As for the noise - I think of it as ‘global’, although as Jim pointed out, each DSP chip has its own code loaded.

Re: Developer Fund

What do you mean specifically with “Patch-level Random Tune”? Are you using the V1.4.2 OS?

Re: Question about Samples and Noise

Hi, I have to questions: 1. Each time I launch the Solaris, it loads the "Glockenspiel" as default samples pool. If I select a patch that uses another samples pool, it is not loaded and I have to do it manually each time. Should the Solaris not load the correct sample pools when necessary? 2. You c...

Is the $250 price-tag for the OLED displays you offer the current production round the same for retrofitting?

Re: FM programming help needed

Please forgive the long message, but I want to lay out in detail why I think there's something amiss with linear FM on the Solaris. The possibility of using Linear FM on the Solaris was something I was really interested in, but having now tried it, the current implementation of linear FM just doesn...

Re: OLED text displays

Finally, we have a definite plan to offer OLED displays with new plexiglas coverings. The cost will be $250 per Solaris, which we are offering first to the current Round 7 pre-orders. If you are a current Solaris owner, but would like to have your 5 text displays replaced with the OLED displays, ple...

Re: Developer Fund

Hi John, Please count me in to fund this. I can do $500 or more. Please let me know the logistics of the payment. I may be able to contribute more funds depends on my situation. If things go well for me, I'll reach out to you directly to see if we can do much more than just an OS update. Best, Chri...

Re: New carrying case for your Solaris

I was contacted by Jordan at http://www.ampcovers.org/ that he has made a really nice soft carry case for the Solaris. (He is also the one who made the beautitful dust cover some years ago). Here's the info: Custom padded bag for SOLARIS John Bowen Design: - dual-layer soft-padded material; - super...

Re: Seaboard, actually pretty good

Steve, What you will have to do is re-program the sound you like to have Poly AT, since it’s not standard on the Solaris keyboard itself, and nothing in the factory preset sounds has been prepared using Poly AT. It will be a lot of work that way, but, for the moment, that’s the reality of it. You ca...

Re: error loading preset

OK, so current situation is v1.4.2 OS needs a ‘placeholder’ preset there for you to write over. If you see the INIT Bank I include in the Factory set, all 128 positions are filled as INIT presets. What I suggest you do is copy presets 9 through 127 from the INIT Bank into your BANK11 folder, and the...

Re: Envelope Amount and Pitch Offset per Voice

Version 1.4.2 of the OS does provide for a random tuning offset per voice. It is ‘hardwired’ to the pitch signal, and is not available as a mod source at this time (to be used to offset the EG Amount to the filter, for example). In the future I would like to have this as a general Mod Source, which ...
