Re: Screen display

Hello Is there an option to constantly have the preset displayed ? even when modifying a parameter ? Yours sincerely Not at this time. You want to not use the center display for any editing information - just display the preset as is, and yet to still be able to edit in the text screens, correct? B...

Re: other Solaris hardware ideas

Option 2 would be interesting for me, if MIDI multi mode would be implemented, and if the unit could not only be controlled by a decent software editor, but also by a "standard" Solaris acting as "master". (I am aware of the fact that the implementation of Multi-Mode is not at all trivial.) Pluggin...

other Solaris hardware ideas

Hello Everyone! I wanted to do a sort of 'marketing survey’ here, since I don’t have gobs of money to hire out a research firm (or whatever bigger companies do). I’d like to find out what level of interest there would be in the following additional Solaris products: 1) A keyboard less “expander” typ...

Re: control change

Hello :) I use the Solaris as a master keyboard. I need CC11 to control a vst instrument. Can i assign a button on the Solaris for this purpose ? Cannot find it in the manual :/ Another option would be to extend the list of values possible for the Assign1 and 2 buttons. It’s a bit much to add all M...

Re: control change

Maybe we could add some modification to the MIDI CC page. Right now this page assigns CC numbers to 5 ‘labels’ (as CC1-5) using the upper row of knobs, which are then routed as mod sources. What if these could also send out controller data for the assigned numbers, using the bottom row of knobs? (Th...

Re: What's next in OS 1.40 ??

The next OS will, indeed, be 1.4.0. It’s primarily going to be an update to things MIDI - nothing regarding the DSP code, unfortunately.

Re: control change

Hmmm, this is the controller for Expression. I'm not sure if, when using an Expression pedal with the Solaris, it sends out the same info - will have to check. However, to answer your question - no, right now there’s no way to customize a button with this value. Assigning numbers in the page 2 MIDI ...

Re: Can you............

What do you mean by “track this”? Automate it?
Manually moving it will work, of course (you modulate the Crossfade position). To have it move without manual operation, you would have to use the 2-D Looping Envelope.

Hi Solaris Owners!

I’d like to know what reverbs everyone is using - to see if there’s a general consensus as to which one works best for Solaris sounds, and your uses in general.

Thanks,
John B.

Re: CS-80 Voice Architecture with the Solaris

Thanks for posting your article! I'd like to correct two things mentioned there that I hope you can edit: 1) you get 10 voices with the Solaris, not 20 (unless you have 2 Solarises/Solari) 2) there are 2 ring modulators in the Solaris - ring mod is but one of four possible Amplitude Modulation optio...

Not just pressing Enter, but hold it down steadily until the special menu appears. Are you doing that?

Re: SPIF to DAW

You shouldn’t need to do anything special - connecting the optical will automatically slave the Solaris to the input. The chips will take the incoming clock rate and convert it to 48k, which is the only rate that works for the digital I/O (so, if you then took the optical output, you’d see that the ...

Re: Daya Wheel doing unexpected things

I wouldn’t expect the residue to impact things, but I’m not a PCB specialist. The evidence as you describe points to a data line being affected somewhere, as all the switches and encoders are scanned repeatedly, and you are indicating that something is awry in the data bus that is carrying the data ...
