Re: Announcing another major update to the Solaris Operating System, v1.4.0!

the fact vtcurve is not stored by preset anymore is a big deal for me (i have a lot of them using this, it is(|was?) on of the best feature) I’ve had a number of requests to make these VT and AT Curves global, because of wanting to just set the response to their controller, and keep it there. I’m s...

Re: CF Card with everytime last docs, presets, templates, ...

Fred,

Thanks for the message! It’s true, I don’t have a single CF CARD image loaded, but all separately. I’ll post a complete update over this weekend.
I’m still waiting for the updated User Guide, and a few other things before I want to post it, but it should be soon.

I'll have to refer you to Sonic Core, who has the key code system.

Re: Anomalies with new Preset Bank

It looks like Brian may not have programmed the Sustain parameter to be On for his preset bank. What you can do is override this by using the Global Pedal assignment on the System page 2. Just set the parameter labeled, ‘GloSust’ to Sustain, and then set your polarity for your pedal. Finally, save t...

Re: Developer Fund

Yea, we don’t really want to have two code bases to keep up. As for a licensing scheme - the Solaris has internal code that allows for secure operating system management, so that someone who didn’t pay for the upgrade would not be able to use the OS.

Re: MidiCtrl defaults to off in 1.4.2. Should be on

This controls both MIDI in and out, and the default setting is saved with your Global INIT file (the Save option in your System page). V1.4.0.2 uses an expanded Global INIT file, so you do need to re-save your default settings. I know some of the DSI stuff has the option to send MIDI via USB, DIN, o...

New Preset Bank by Brian Kehew

I’m very happy to announce the release today of a brand new bank of 100 wonderful sounds by the synth expert Brian Kehew. Brian is well-known in the synthesizer world, having spent time on the road playing keyboards for The Who, and his own group The Moog Cookbook, as well as having co-authored the ...

Re: Patch Master Volume Issues

The Master Volume is not stored anywhere, so I wouldn’t expect it to have anything to do with patch creation on an older OS. Make sure your Master Volume is calibrated correctly by checking the ‘Self Test’ menu - hold 1-8-3 at the same time to get this menu, and select #4 Analog Controls, then #4 ag...

Re: other Solaris hardware ideas

Just wanted to chime in. I'm a millenial, and awaiting my solaris. I wouldn't want to have anything to do with mini keys. That is in fact the main reason I am turned off by new korg products. Agreed! Side note: Rackmount solaris voice expander would interest me the most. This seems to be the first ...

Re: save cc settings

These should be saved with the Global INIT file (using SAVE from there System page 1), but I see that they are not. I will let Jim know.

Thanks for reporting the bug!

New preset bank soon

We have a new bank of Presets coming from a very well-known synthesizer expert. I hope to get the final data by end of next week, and from what I’ve heard so far, everyone will be quite happy with these new sounds. :-)
