Re: Unison Spread

Thanks John! My thoughts about oscillator panning originate from the Akai S-Series Samplers, where you had basic waveform-samples to use the sampler as a synth. Every Sound-Programm consisted of up to 4 samples, and every sample-"oscillator" could be panned (or pan modulated) individually....

Re: Your views on the overall feel?

Since I've got my Solaris over a year now, I'm keen enough to write some lines about it. The overall feel of the Solaris is great. The looks somehow remind me of the wavestation, but bigger and better. Love the deer-red wooden ends and the clear and eye-friendly displays. The housing is massive and ...

Re: Stereo Modulations

Thanks for the info, but that's a bit "late" for my taste. I would prefer a pan function at the core of synthesis, in order to get easier effects from it. Especially in the oscillator section. The signal gets "audible" after the VCAs, may be this the reason why it's all mono befo...

Stereo Modulations

I really miss a modulatable panorama parameter per oscillator in the oscillator section. Or at least in the mixer section. The Solaris can sound so organic, it would be breathtaking with true stereo modulations!

Re: What power-adaptor for the Solaris?

I strictly begann to label all of them over a year ago... for some unknown reason I forgot to do so on the Solaris.

Thanks for the hint with the smallness, chances are good that it will show up when the full relocation is done.

Re: Unison Spread

DSI polysynths also implement this (voice detuning + stereo spread in unison mode) in the analog world, which is a very nice feature. Solaris should implement this along with analog drift (osc tune + start phase), without the need to burn additionnal modulation patches. Agreed by me. Often I find m...

Re: What power-adaptor for the Solaris?

Yes 19 Volts. There was not one around with 12 Volts and over 3A. AFAIK the Volts are flexible for the machine, meaning the unit draws that number of Volts that it needs... the A are to be aware of.

Re: What power-adaptor for the Solaris?

Update: I found that we did use one from Kysan Electronics long ago: http://store.kysanelectronics.com/servlet/-strse-69929/AD2-dsh-12V3.5A-dsh-2.5/Detail Thanks, yes that's how I remember it. I wish to find that one again. Now I used a Model with 19V and 3.42A. I hope the additional volts did not ...

Re: What power-adaptor for the Solaris?

Thank you John, you know my Solaris well (from Vienna)... may you please post/send me a pic of the adaptor that came with mine or what's written on it? I think this would solve it... I just have hundreds of adaptors and I want to find the right one.

What power-adaptor for the Solaris?

Hello, I moved with my studio and after building it up again I wondered why the power-adaptor did not fit any more into the Solaris. So I guess something got mixed up (I've got over 50 synths)... I searched everywhere over a week, but no success. Finally I found a fitting adaptor, first I thought it...

Re: shift lock for faster value changes

I see... if the implementation is a bit complicated to add, because of the indication, a vice versa value behaviour of value manipulation may be appreciated. Fast value changes on all parameters+knobs as a default, and with shift you access slower changes (like switching to a loupe). Because, when y...

shift lock for faster value changes

When I used the Solaris in a live Session, I wanted to make extensive use of altering the LFO rates with the knobs. But they change the values so slow that it was not possible to make rhythmical use of. The value-changes only behave like on an analog synth when I hold down shift, but I have no third...
