Why?

Don't get me wrong, but the Solaris still has more bugs than a flea circus.
I am not at all asking for new features. All I am asking for is a synth that actually works as advertised.

Re: "Legato" behavior

Great to see some progress on this issue. Thank you Patate for figuring this out! I've tried it and I can definitely confirm that renaming Patches triggers this bug. However I do remember running into this particular issue just by playing various patches without editing anything at all. So I had ano...

Re: New German review online - with the best sound examples

Great, inspirational demo! I love how he puts an emphasis on the more digital side of things instead of just emulating analog stuff. Some great programming there -- interesting textures, full, three-dimensional and very animated. I also like how he takes great advantage of the stereo field. His revi...

Re: Routing mixer into output

Hmmm … very interesting! I've been thinking about something along those lines as well—not quite the same, but similar: The SOLARIS already has a pretty flexible FX architecture, where the inputs of any FX channel can take their signal from various sources. However, besides the external inputs and ot...

Re: "Legato" behavior

And to clarify - you are playing a preset that you saved with the Legato parameter set to 'assignable', and it plays as if it were set to 'retrigger', correct? Correct. Patches saved with the Legato parameter set to 'Reassign' behave as if they were set to 'Retrigger' . To put it another way: When ...

2) select a different preset that has Legato set to Off (such as the first preset of mine in Bank 0), and look again at the Legato value

Does it display 'Off'?
Yes, it does.

Re: Knob acceleration for EQ

I have to agree with alexg that the EQs are indeed quite tedious to use. Yes, it's true that one could just enter the required frequency via the keypad, but in my opinion that is a somewhat flawed argument. The whole point about the SOLARIS as a hardware instrument is, that all those knobs and displ...

Re: "Legato" behavior

Sorry, but I have to bring this up again. John, while your long distance Juju was greatly appreciated :) , it seems to not have resolved the issue permanently. Sometimes, it still happens that seemingly out of nowhere the 'reassign' parameter starts misbehaving. I've been trying to figure out the ex...

Re: "Legato" behavior

About an hour ago, all of a sudden it started to work again!
I have no idea what happened there. It didn't work yesterday, didn't work this morning, but now it's perfectly fine again.

"Legato" behavior

Not sure if this might be a bug or if it's just me not getting it: I've been trying to build some classic "funky" monophonic lead and bass sounds and I want them to behave like a MiniMoog in that the envelopes don't re-trigger when I'm playing legato. The Solaris does offer a "Legato&...

Re: Sample transposition

asynchronus clocking = use a variable sample rate system, sometimes known as asynchronus clocking, in which each voice had it's own sample clock and the pitch of the sample was transposed by varying the sample playback rate. On a polyphonic system, asynchronous clocking requires a separate DAC per ...

Murphy's law strongly suggests that he found out about that 'Tempo' button one minute after his review went to press.

OK, I've just finished translating that review. It may not exactly be the best english you've ever read, but hey, i did my best. There are some passages, where the original text is a bit sketchy, for instance the author writes: "Mittels AM-Modulatoren sind auch einfache FM-Experimente ma...
