At what point are you going to make an initial proposal for the feature set and cost John?
Are you going to prioritize development of 1U rack hardware above continuing OS development of the existing platform? I am sure I am not alone in hoping that doesn't happen.

Re: other Solaris hardware ideas

John I would not assume that there are a lot of people regularly reading this forum. If you want to really gauge interest I would do a post on GS or Muffwiggler as well as sending an email out to all existing Solaris users. I am very interested in a Solaris expansion bit strained for cash right now ...

Re: Developer Fund

John, Lots of great ideas already here. Here is what I want: multimode support - See the implementation of the Schmidt 8 voice polyphonic. I thought that was very well done. You could have 8 parts and you could allocate 1-8 voices per part. It allowed unison mode inside of multi patches also which w...

Re: Developer Fund

Yea, we don’t really want to have two code bases to keep up. As for a licensing scheme - the Solaris has internal code that allows for secure operating system management, so that someone who didn’t pay for the upgrade would not be able to use the OS. So if you agree with me that you don't want to h...

Re: Developer Fund

Just tripped over this thread so I apologize in advance if I post a bunch of replies instead of one lengthy one. I absolutely would contribute $200 to this effort. Regarding separate versions of the OS for those that contribute to this effort and those that don't, I am a software engineer by trainin...

MidiCtrl defaults to off in 1.4.2. Should be on

John, I upgraded my Solaris from 1.3 to 1.4.2 (which is overall great by the way....) and discovered it stopped working as a controller keyboard for my Parva. I used Midi-Ox to verify that no midi was being sent. It turned out that the MidiCtrl parameter was off when it should have been on. I have a...

Re: New Preset Bank by Brian Kehew

I just spent a bunch of time going through all these presets. Wow.....what great work. Thank you so much for these. I learned a lot just looking at how some of these were constructed. Patch 42, Starpeggios was just awesome!

Re: New version of the OS ? Soon or not ?

I don't have a detented encoder version of the Solaris but am very eager to finally get an OS where midi clocking and the sustain pedal work properly. Hopefully, the version for us will be out shortly. I hope this also signals the start of more regular releases.

Re: New version of the OS ? Soon or not ?

I thought we were going to start receiving some updated software at this point. It has been far far too long and something absolutely should be done about this. There is talk of build 5 and a custom Solaris with a larger keyboard. That is all interesting but we deserve much more mature software. Wha...

Re: New version of the OS ? Soon or not ?

John I would be thrilled to test a beta version of the OS with some bug fixes. I can put it through any midi paces you want with my Cirklon and/or DAW. Glad to see some progress is being made and am looking forward to some new OS releases.

Turning performance knobs affects sequencer note timing

Symptom: Manipulating performance knobs while sequencer A is running clocked to internal tempo causes sequencer to skip or delay notes. OS version: 1.2 How to reproduce: Create a polyphonic patch with a sequence on sequencer A and have it modulate oscillator pitch. Define performance knobs to contro...

Re: Andromeda owners and Solaris , please share your thought

I love my Andromeda A6's and I also love my Solaris. They are very different synths. If I had to choose just one I would choose the Solaris. That said, however, there are several things that I wish the Solaris had that the A6 does that I love. Perhaps with some future release or set of releases some...
