Re: New v1.4.4 OS Released!

Solaris # 142 is up to date! Thanks for this update. I appreciate all the hard work that has gone into the these updates. This remains the most flexible hardware synth that I own, and it is such a free place to create sounds!

Re: Developer Fund

I'd be happy to chip in for an editor. $100-$200 is fine.

Re: Developer Fund

I would be a huge fan of that idea,John. My interest in the Waldorf Quantum is precisely to have playable, keyboard accessible ability to make and play those sounds. Same with the Yamaha Montage. I don't really need another sampled piano and such. The updated FM engine and the thoughtful real-time c...

Re: Developer Fund

I should also add that multi-timbral operation is not important to me. I use mine in my composition studio, and it is easy to layer things in the DAW as much or little as I want. My Minimoog makes one sound at a time, so does my bass, piano, drums, the OB-6, and so on. I just don't see this as any l...

Re: Developer Fund

For me, adding modal/resonator synthesis or granular synthesis would be very cool, or some kind of cool FM engine. I've enjoyed every resonator/modal synth that I've used from Structure (in Mainstage) to the Elements module from Mutable Instruments in my Eurorack rig. I try to like NI's FM-8, but th...

Re: Announcing another major update to the Solaris Operating System, v1.4.0!

1.4.01 downloaded - its going on the Solaris in a moment! Again, many thanks! I would love to have a software interface that had some patch randomization and genomics like the SoundTower editors for Dave Smith Instruments. But with SYSEX support, it should even be possible to set up a Lemur patch or...

Re: CS-80 Voice Architecture with the Solaris

M-Prod, You've got it! Yes, you just patch it through the Insert FX as you suggest. I left the insert FX off. There are a few "hard wired" paths in the synth, but really, they can all be patched around if you have a brief think about it. I don't know if you could overdrive that VCA in the ...

Re: CS-80 Voice Architecture with the Solaris

Ok, that is awesome. Thank you John - a bit of Ring Modulation really expands the harmonic complexity, and when mixed in with subtlety, just lovely. I just learned another useful trick with my Solaris!
