Re: Ring Modulation...and more!
Its interesting that. I have always wondered why I can get all this insane sonic evolving territory on the JP6 that I cannot get on any other FM implementation. Maybe its the multiple waveforms combined within the VCO's that give it the unique effect. Do you think that routing several oscillators in...

Re: Ring Modulation...and more!
Thanks for the info T_tangent Hey John. No problems. Here you go. This Jupiter 6 is in need of a service so some of the voices are out from one another unfortunately. But its close enough. https://soundcloud.com/polybonk/full-crossmod-multiple-keys-2 So Logarithmic FM hey. Is that something we could...

Re: Ring Modulation...and more!
Another example of how wild it can get with the Cross mod on the JP6 https://soundcloud.com/polybonk/jp6-crossmod-swamp 2 layers this time. One of them into a delay. More sound design territory than musical. I really appreciate you taking the time with this. I have always wondered what Solaris would...

Re: Ring Modulation...and more!
Thanks for looking into that. This recording is from 2002 and just meant to convey how much evolution/harmonic tonal content that continues to come in and out. Would have been 2 notes on upper and 4 on lower. This might help https://soundcloud.com/polybonk/jp6-xmod-middle-c-2-saws-then-osc-1-square-...

Re: Ring Modulation...and more!
Actually I will use soundcloud to keep the question relevant to anyone reading. Cross Modulation on a single Jupiter 6. Split upper and lower with keys in hold mode. Some delay used that creates the panning. Ping pong on the VS 880 HD recorder. https://soundcloud.com/polybonk/in-the-forest-the-sleep...

Re: Ring Modulation...and more!
Hmm thanks for the info. Jupiter 8 is definitely ordinary sounding FM. JP6 is utterly unique tho. I did find online once someone said that JP6 cross mod was actually some kind of AM mod when I went asking in a forum years ago. Its absolutely crazy what it can do. Like a wall of constantly evolving m...

Re: Ring Modulation...and more!
Hey John. Just wanted to ask. What would I need to do to mimic the structure of the Cross Mod in my Jupiter 6? Its stunningly different sounding from any other cross modulation I have heard. When done right you get endless worlds of shifting harmonic and textural content coming in and out. Any idea ...

Way to reduce the pitch mod lower than 0.10?
0.10 is still quite a lot when it comes to the pitch of the OSC. I was wondering if there was a way to get it lower. Like for example if there was a control I could use to modify the amount lower? If not then something like a 1% modifier would be good. IE a control that changes the amount to cover a...

Is it possible to create the same sounds as the Waldorf Microwave XT with solaris?
Basically, the title covers it. I have really fallen in love with the sound of the Waldorf Microwave XT. So naturally before going out and getting one I wanted to check in here and see if this synth can be replicated and no doubt bested by Solaris? I have never owned one and don't know but is there ...

Re: Reverb....
If you could put the chorus and phaser inside the feedback loop of the delay you would have a very nice effect. With the right set of filters this would be able to sound like an old analogue. If you put a simple limiter on the end of the feedback path you can generate long lasting feedback loops tha...

Having trouble getting my head around velocity!!
I have I am having a problem with velocity. And maybe its just my approach. Would love some help on this. Its in the mod source on the Osc section. I can map Velocity to an envelope and use that envelope on the cutof of the filter for example. Then it plays as expected. I can make a synth that gets ...

Re: Analog random control signal emulation
Yup, it’s on the list. Actually, I’d appreciate everyone’s input as to how you’d expect to see this implemented. There’s simple, and then more complex.... 1) Simple - use an LFO. Select S&H wave shape, Retrigger ON, Rate = 0. Now, with every key press, the LFO will put out a random value 2) Mor...

Re: shift lock for faster value changes
The way I think it should be done is having a 5th page on the home menu. Then being able to have the default shift behavior Fast/Slow for every main/commonly used parameter set by the user. You could scroll through the list with one knob just like picking a mod. Then the next knob can set fast/slow ...

Re: Andromeda owners and Solaris , please share your thought
I have both. Solaris is much much thicker fuller and complex but stable and accurate. The A6 is a totally different sound. The LFO's go really slow so its far better for ambient that evolves over a long time. I use the A6 for ambient tonal music and Solaris cant really pull the same sort of sounds. ...
