Re: New carrying case for your Solaris

Does it protect the joystick? I have a soft case for the Solaris but am permanently worried about the joystick and have tried to find a way to protect it. My latest idea (which I have yet to implement) is to have a plastic cup of sorts and try to fix that to the unit with a strap. A hard case is for...

Re: Announce when you receive your Solaris!

Mine came today, Nov 7, 2016. I am overwhelmed. There are so many things I don't get about this instrument (like almost everything). I have a ton of super noob questions and am afraid to post them as people online are not always kind or even polite. That might be true in other parts of the internet...

If you own a Solaris, you are eligible to access to a closed off part of the forum, just for owners. That is where you typically would find patches and such-likes.

Re: Still thrilled and learning after two years with Solaris

Well written indeed. One thing in particular really caught my eye though. 6) I put it in Omni mode and play it from a Roli Seaboard with full Poly-AT control. This is the kind of expression that synths were made for. Just gorgeous. Please tell me more about this. I am very close to pulling the trigg...

Re: OS updates, bugfixes & feats

It is a bit rough to describe the Solaris as "a prototype"; that stage would have been while it was being developed on the Scope platform.

Nice review on Gearslutz

I am sorry if this is old hat; I tried to search the forum but since that came up with nil I took the plunge and posted this. Here is a very nice review from a chap on Gearslutz that is well worth reading. Not only is it well written and well researched, is is also very concise and to the point. Sin...

Re: While waiting for my Solaris...

Hello out there... i`m waiting for my Solaris :-) so i read these posts...it may be a dumb question but will it be / is it possible to drop the patch-data via usb (since i don`t have midi-connection)?...and i was thinking that it would be nice to collect (and share) screenshots of the presets that ...

Re: While waiting for my Solaris...

I decided to make the source available. You can find it at: https://bitbucket.org/JimHewes/solarium Great news! I have started on the port to Mac but ran into problems with the compiler. If someone else is on Mac and have Xcode I'd be more than happy to get some help as my C++ fu is rather weak. K

Oh, one feature request: the ability to read a preset from file, rather than from MIDI, please. Would make life so much easier for me, running the program in a virtual environment you see... :D

Re: While waiting for my Solaris...

Lovely, and a bit of a bummer… This is exactly what I have been wishing for - a way to visualize a patch! I have no need for an editor at this stage, but a way to break down a patch and see how it works. Excellent way to learn! However, I am a Mac only person so I will have to try to find a way to r...

Re: Radikal Technologies Accelerator or DSI P12

I was wondering how you're getting on with the Accelerator? - how's the oscillators and filters in comparison to the Solaris? Any issues or major features you've encountered? I like the sound; it is more digital than the Solaris and, as I pointed out above, complements the Solaris well. I have yet ...

Solaris keybed

Just curious: I have known for quite a while that the keyed is a Fatar but what model is it? Not that it really matters, but the point is that it has a rather nice feel to it and it compares very favourably to my other synths and there is a cat inside me dying to know…
