Hi John,
Any updates on how the work on the next major version is going?

Re: Developer Fund
I overlooked patch-level RndTune in 1.4.2 - thanks for pointing that out!
One additional idea: wave folding for the analog oscillator types.

Re: Developer Fund
I'd be happy to prepay $200. My requests would be (in order of priority):
1. Additional oscillator types you discussed
2. Multi-timbrality
3. Reverb
4. Patch-level RndTune
5. User-importable wavetables
Hopefully this is a fairly realistic list that does not vary exceptionally from other requests.

Re: Developer Fund
John, I would definitely contribute $200 for a major upgrade. Many others have mentioned multi-timbrality and reverb, so need to dwell on those. My interest is principally in sound generation capabilities at the oscillator / insertFX stages: • LOVE the thought of granular and resonator oscillators –...

Modulate wavetable wave #
I don't know if this has been raised before, but it would definitely help if the wave number in wavetable oscillators could be modulated. This is a pretty common feature in wavetable synths and it would definitely make the wavetable oscillators more useful. Thanks!

Re: New version of the OS ? Soon or not ?
No disagreement at all that the Solaris is an amazing instrument, and by no means is it attempting to compete with sample-based workstations. I certainly have not regretted the purchase. Almost any feature I can think of (including multi-timbrality) that I have raised appears to be on the 2.0 featur...

Re: New version of the OS ? Soon or not ?
I'm wondering whether some transparency about the business model might alleviate the discomfort felt by many here. is John Bowen Synth Design intended to be a part-time, run from home business or a sustainable, long-term enterprise designed to grow to a larger scale? I ask because the resourcing cha...

Re: OS 2 feature ideas
Wow, John! As I should have expected, you are way ahead of the curve :). The only other potential features I can think of are: Sequencer - a Note Tie value per step that extends the value of the previous step, allowing longer notes. Filter FM - for a different kind of (modulatable) FM. Compression a...

OS 2 feature ideas
I’ve had a chance to play the Solaris for a few weeks now. I’m only beginning to grasp all of its possibilities and the galaxy of sounds that can be created. That said, I have thought of a few enhancements for OS 2 that would add even more flexibility and power, in my opinion: Oscillator drift for M...
