Re: MIDI Thru from USB?

No. Actually, MIDI thru is not accessible by the internal software. MIDI thru is just a direct electrical connection to the MIDI in connector.

Re: Univoice

Yes, I could have been a little more clear. I meant it would be the same as Unison being off.

Re: Univoice

The UniVoice parameter is the number of voices applied to each note. So UniVoice less than 2 (i.e. UniVoice 1) would just be the same as UniVoice being off. One voice for each note. I can't think of any reason why you should not see any difference when you change the UniTune parameter except that wh...

Re: Automating the Solaris using cubase?

With poly pressure, you have 127 X 127 parameters ! But on 8 bit = 127 resolution points. But with a smooth feature, or lag or slew limiter, whatever, the result is perfect and poly pressure is as easy to use as midi cc. I was just glancing at the manual for Virus C in the appendix. That's the only...

Re: Automating the Solaris using cubase?

I was one who lobbied for SysEx as opposed to NRPN. Solaris has a lot of parameters and if you look at other keyboards that have a lot of parameters such as Kronos and Motif/Montage they also use SysEx and do not use NRPN. At least you have to use SysEx for transferring entire presets because it’s i...

Re: It's arrived !

Hi JoPo, For the vocal filter, make sure you have set the five vowel parameters to different vowel sounds. (Third page of filter menu) The XFade parameter is supposed to fade between those five vowel sounds. But if they are all set to the same vowel then XFade will have no effect. Regarding the Samp...

Re: Reset controllers

This seems less likely to be a software bug. Perhaps John can comment on it, though he may be currently busy with round 7.

Re: Reset controllers

The MIDI reset controller message does not reset the calibration data. It's just a way to reset controllers to zero when they have been adjusted by a DAW or another synth. For example, if you're playing back a MIDI recording and you stop it when the mod wheel is at some high value and rewind to star...

Re: Reset controllers

I was not able to reproduce the inverse problem. Make sure modulation amount is set to a positive value. Or possibly start with an INIT preset to make sure there's no unusual settings. At the moment I can't think of anything else that might affect it. Yes, the calibration procedure in the manual see...

Re: New OS Update - v1.4.3

Hopefully you don’t mind if I throw in a couple more details. Sample pool loading: The function of the “LoadSmp” parameter in the System page changed since the previous version. Previously, if enabled, it would automatically load the first sample pool right after the Solaris booted up. But it doesn’...

Re: Question about Samples and Noise

1.) The Solaris is not supposed to load any samples as a result of loading a preset. The reason it loads samples when you first boot up is because you must have the LoadSamp parameter set to On in the System Page 1. This causes a sample pool to automatically load but only when you first boot up. I d...

Re: synchronization with rme ucx

I don't think the terminology of master/slave is so appropriate with SPDIF. SPDIF has the clock embedded along with the audio signal. The sender sends at the frequency it wants to and it's up to the receiver to listen at that frequency. The receiver cannot specify a clock. Usually you just set both ...

Re: synchronization with rme ucx

It's enough to just connect the SPDIF out of the Solaris to the SPDIF in of the RME. You don't need two way and you don't need word clock. But you probably need to set the RME SPDIF input to be 48KHz. The Solaris SPDIF can only output at 48KHz; there's nothing to set. Note that MIDI clock is a diffe...

Re: Local On - transmit MIDI?

Actually, looking at it closer, it's not technically a bug depending on how you look at it. You probably have SendArp set to On. When SendArp is On, you want only the notes that have been generated by the Arp to be sent out over MIDI, not the notes played on the keyboard. So you need to set SendArp ...
