Re: New version of the OS ? Soon or not ?

Sounds much better than hacking the compiled OS-firmware file in the memory chips of Alesis Andromeda, could take years with semi-automated hacking tools but I am also ready to pay a little bit for the work of the newwork more. In my opinion that would be quite reasonable, especially if the person ...

Re: New version of the OS ? Soon or not ?

To sum up - I am now in a vastly improved situation regarding the updating and improvement of Solaris, and, though it will still take time to get to the v2.0 level you seek, I am quite confident this will be achieved. Good to hear things are looking up John - it sounds like a lot of challanges, fru...

Re: Still thrilled and learning after two years with Solaris

That gives me all the Note-on (Velocity + pitch), Note-off messages, and polyAT. Set the filter, resonance, and/or VCA to respond to PolyAT and velocity in varying quantities and you can make some amazingly expressive patches. Set the pitch bend on the Solaris to an octave up and down, and you are ...

Re: Still thrilled and learning after two years with Solaris

It is really pretty easy. The Roli keyboards are very configurable. . Just found your words posted on the homepage which are really inspiring about your experiences with the Solaris but especially the use with the Roli controller. I thought the Roli keys looked pretty interesting but was turned off...

Re: Send and Return to External Fx?

I did try somthing like this - sending synth out to both 1+2 main outs and to 3+4 to the fx send and then combining the fx return back thru a mixer and filter to main outs . It did have a feedback loop but as the external in only trigger with note on it took a while to build up feedback and mosty wi...

Re: New Black Octopus presets

Lovely stuff Toby. I listened to your demos many times before deciding to drop the cash on the solaris - every time I got cold feet you pursuaded me with you smoking programming skills and subline sounds. Im yet to purchase the bank but its on the top of my wishlist. Im loving the solaris and still ...

Re: Send and Return to External Fx?

Well after further investigation it can work but.. It seems to work better on fx with a mix knob as without any of dry signal you have to deal with the latency of the round trip to the fx and back - otherwise it seems to be pretty straightforward and quite useable. Outs 1+2 = Ext 1+2 (monitor and fx...

Re: Automating the Solaris using cubase?

Im a little late to the party but still lots of interesting info here! I havent tried experimenting myself but its been a few years since any posts here Im and wondering if Cubase updates now play better with NRPNs or if anybody has found any workarounds, solution or tips to Cubase automation with t...

Send and Return to External Fx?

I'm excited by the possibility of the solaris external Ins and Outs but I'm a little confused.:? I realise you can route audio and modulation data thru the synth it but is it possible to use the Ins and Outs as a fx send and return path as part of a patch and if so what's the best way to achieve this?

Re: Insert and backspace during patch name edit

+1 on the insert and backspace as it would make it much easier naming things!

what a continuous loop of the characters so you dont have to scroll all the way forward and back?

Re: New version of the OS ? Soon or not ?

New User here and Im still exploring the solaris but as an Alesis Andromeda User Im keen to pay for stable OS updates and to continue to support this amazing Synth with future feature updates. I think a couple of hundred dollars is not unreasonable to continue to iron out bugs and another couple to ...
