Re: DIGITAL LEVEL TOO HOT`

Well, this is a first! Sorry, I can’t think of any way to do this globally! The only thing that comes to mind would be a customized software app that would go through each preset, doing a search and replace the value for all mixers. I had Bernard Wong (subliminaleffect) create a special app to do th...

Re: POLY AFTERTOUCH PRESETS

As far as I know, there aren’t any presets that are set to use Poly AT. You would have to edit the presets to add it. In the Modulation Source lists, it shows up as PolyAT. You can get to it quickly by turning the desired Source knob a little (to tell the Solaris you want to edit that parameter), th...

Re: Sustain pedal and Note-On messages choke the Solaris OS 1.4.1

We haven’t seen this issues since v1.3.0 OS, and so it’s odd to see your report. What synthwalker is referring to - there was a corrupted global.ini file that got out there in some of the production, and it was affecting things (though I can’t recall exactly what right now). You can check it by down...

Re: Solaris future questions.

With the industry moving towards more ARM -- better tools, cheaper, better price/performance -- like the H9000 and Quantum, how much work would it be to move the existing code onto an ARM setup vs. trying to continue down the SHARC path? There would be other advantages too such as a larger base of ...

Re: Solaris future questions.

What happens as the years go by, some parts become no longer available through normal channels, and you have to find them on the ‘after market’, where the prices become ridiculously high in most cases. That has been the case for the current main board, and my costs have increased significantly becau...

Factory Presets 4.3 complete

These are all of the factory presets so far, including the new bank of 100 sounds from Brian Kehew (listed as Bank10) plus the 3 banks from Mike Johnson (Banks 11, 12, and 13).

Enjoy!

Is it possible to add human readable preset and bank names in a future OS update? Make it a lot easier to manage banks and add new preset banks. :D
I have asked Jim about what would be the possibility....

Re: Solaris future questions.

Hi Robin, Thanks for your questions. First, I can tell you that the original main board never had connectors for voice expansion, and we are still using that board for production. The new main board I spoke of also does not have voice expansion connectors. We were just hoping that the more powerful ...

New 384 Presets from Michael Johnson

Last weekend I received several banks of Presets from Mike Johnson, a major sound designer in Los Angeles. Mike has spent many years in the gaming industry, having worked most recently at Blizzard Entertainment. His earlier collection of synthesizers include a big PPG system, which helps explain the...

Re: Solaris emulating Korg Wavestation

Yes, I think there were around 200 total, but this one is a Rev B with 8MB of memory, and these are even more rare. You are close regarding price - I’ve had someone say they’d pay $3200 for a working unit...which this is not at the moment. I have to get the internal power supply replaced and everyth...

Re: Solaris emulating Korg Wavestation

Hi John, I guess you're the best person to ask this query to... There have been a few "atmospherics" that have 'haunted' me for years... I recently identified both of them from being from your Korg Wavestation: "Guardians", "Wave Song" and a couple of others. So my question is 'Are those wave table...
