I *DO* insist that the Solaris needs to have modern sounding patches that could be used in dance/electronica/you-name-it genre. an "interesting" attitude... :roll: how about a virus / nord lead / microkorg / ion with their 7000 zillions of dance presets? it's all there for you, you don't ...

i wouldn't spend too much time reading manuals of other gear to find out about their workstation capabilities, john. the solaris is not supposed to be a workstation anyway.
an "event sequencer" as planned is fine, however. more is not required, from my point of view.

these "angled accent lines" do not add any value from my perspective. they don't make the panel easier to read, don't give much additional structure.
they just fill it with more stuff for its own sake. shouldn't design follow functionality?

just out of curiosity as the first "final" version of the OS is specified and to a substantial extent coded:

where are we resourcewise, john?
how much CPU power is allocated in 1.0 already? or the other way round: how much % is left for additional functionality?

and i'd prefer not too many too sophisticated built in FX, all of them eating up valuable resources. somebody who can afford a solaris most probably will also have enough outboard to generate decent FX. please preserve the solaris CPU resources for sound synthesis. for FX, we have outboard FX proces...

there is room for an expansion board in the Solaris. Do you think it would be a good idea to allow users to install one, as you did with the G2 Engine? YES! especially because the whole synth wouldn't have to be shipped around the world (e.g. from europe to US and back) just to install the expansio...

IMHO: no, thanks, we have enough plugin synths already. i dont want to control my solaris with a mouse!
