IMHO the grey strip fits very well with the white Solaris. It fits with the dark grey buttons / pots / graphics.
This is a photo of my studio - you can also see the Andromeda has a dark strip / light steel panel.

Re: Unison Spread
You can't pan oscillators because the whole audio signal pass is mono up to the VCAs output. This is where stereo begins.

Re: Reverb....
I also do want a reverb (say delay/reverb alg. to keep the 4 FX structure). To me the FX section is one of the (rare) places to upgrade in the Solaris. Quality is here for sure but we don't have as much flexibility as the other modules. What I need in such a high performance synth is : - most FX par...

VCO : pitch drift and start phase offset between voices
VCF : FC and FC keyboard tracking offset, Q offset betwenn voices
This "analog feel" parameters must be stored in each preset - not globally

Re: Andromeda owners and Solaris , please share your thought
Solaris can't do multimode and has less polyphony for the moment... parameter access is also different in Andromeda with each VCO / VCF / Env having dedicated controls. Soundwise Solaris is way deeper, bigger than Andromeda, for sure !

Re: Unison Spread
DSI polysynths also implement this (voice detuning + stereo spread in unison mode) in the analog world, which is a very nice feature.
Solaris should implement this along with analog drift (osc tune + start phase), without the need to burn additionnal modulation patches.

So do I.
If you want multisampling multilayer interaction, buy a Korg Kronos, it's already covered by the market...
But if you want a good emulation of CS-80 VCOs/VCFs, well...

Re: Solaris review - Keyboard Jan 2012
So this means each of the 5 DSP fires 2 voices (or more in the future) with static voice allocation ? If so will multimode have full dynamic allocation between parts ? Anyway 4 parts multimode should be enough to me.
