Re: New version of the OS ? Soon or not ?
I don't have a detented encoder version of the Solaris but am very eager to finally get an OS where midi clocking and the sustain pedal work properly. Hopefully, the version for us will be out shortly. I hope this also signals the start of more regular releases.

Re: New version of the OS ? Soon or not ?
I thought we were going to start receiving some updated software at this point. It has been far far too long and something absolutely should be done about this. There is talk of build 5 and a custom Solaris with a larger keyboard. That is all interesting but we deserve much more mature software. Wha...

Re: New version of the OS ? Soon or not ?
John I would be thrilled to test a beta version of the OS with some bug fixes. I can put it through any midi paces you want with my Cirklon and/or DAW. Glad to see some progress is being made and am looking forward to some new OS releases.

Turning performance knobs affects sequencer note timing
Symptom: Manipulating performance knobs while sequencer A is running clocked to internal tempo causes sequencer to skip or delay notes. OS version: 1.2 How to reproduce: Create a polyphonic patch with a sequence on sequencer A and have it modulate oscillator pitch. Define performance knobs to contro...

Re: Andromeda owners and Solaris , please share your thought
I love my Andromeda A6's and I also love my Solaris. They are very different synths. If I had to choose just one I would choose the Solaris. That said, however, there are several things that I wish the Solaris had that the A6 does that I love. Perhaps with some future release or set of releases some...

Re: Unusual behavior of performance controllers
I stand corrected on the documentation. I don't understand how I could have possibly missed it. The bug is still there though unfortunately.

Re: Analog random control signal emulation
I started a forum topic on GS to discuss practical ways to do analog emulations with a synth such as the Solaris. Here are some ideas that I think might help pull this off with the current feature set: Create a keytable for each oscillator with a different small variation on each note. You could eve...

Re: shift lock for faster value changes
What if you allowed a double tap on the shift button to toggle the shift/unshift? Instead of relying on an LED indicator which is not there just use the graphical interface to put an "up arrow" graphic if it is in shift lock or no graphic if it is not shift locked. You could couple this wi...

Re: Automating the Solaris using cubase?
Now i'm triple shocked  So, basically what i should ask myself now is would i change my DAW (after learning it for quite some time) if i want to automate Solaris? This is not a Solaris issue. ANY synth that uses NRPN's would have issues with Cubase. There are a LOT of synths that use them be...

Unusual behavior of performance controllers
I defined the behavior of the performance controllers for a patch and have it saved with them all set to 0%. When I record a performance in my DAW the first controller (which is controlling filter 1 cutoff) jumps to -38% even though there is no NRPN receive enabled for the Solaris and the midi chann...

Re: Automating the Solaris using cubase?
Thank you for really making a clear explanation!! It seems I could help things by publishing a list of all the NRPN numbers in hex, or a chart giving MSB/LSB for each so people won't have to do the math. It's just...there are a lot of parameters! No I really don't think you need to do anything. The...

Re: Automating the Solaris using cubase?
There is nothing complicated about NRPN's. They are really just a hack put together to allow a controller number beyond 127 and data values with ranges greater than 0-127. Since midi only supports 7 bit controller and data values in the messages the hack is to use two back to back messages for most ...

Re: Automating the Solaris using cubase?
I can verify that NRPN's are working properly. I use Sonar X2a Producer edition. Sonar has a feature called automation lanes that allow you to specify any parameter and automate it. Here is what I did to prove that Solaris definitely does NRPN remote control correctly: I created a midi track and map...

Re: All audio output shuts off unexpectedly while playing
I have attached the file explicitly now that I finally know how to do that correctly so no more worries about dropbox. I am not sure why that wasn't working but hopefully this will be fine.

Re: All audio output shuts off unexpectedly while playing
It's a dropbox link. There is nothing attached to the message. You click on the dropbox link and you can download. You can have any file in any format. Dropbox doesn't care.Patate le mgae wrote: Good point, but you can't attach the file if it's not in the good format. Zip is one of the good format.
