999? wow, that's quite a bit(more than I hoped for) :). It will be interesting to hear how the different sound designers approach this wonderful new synthesizer with it's many tools to choose from. It's nice to have a place to start(presets) with every new synthesizer but there's nothing more reward...

Very cool John, thanks for putting up another sound example. :) I thought it was rather haunting and ethereal, another color from the pallette we'll be able to choose from when creating sounds. I know it's still a bit early but do you have any sound designers in mind who will be creating patches for...

Here's what I did on the Wavestation: 1) Create all the screen layouts, functional design, button labels and logic flow of the User Interface. This is interesting because this is one of the things I love about the Wavestation, everything is well laid out and the workflow is extremely easy. Saving a...

John I look forward to reading the rest of the installments which chronicle your achievements during the software years to the present culminating with the release of hardware Solaris. In my downtime while waiting for the Solaris to arrive I've been rotating in my one available keyboard slot my Triu...

Thanks for the update and audio examples John. The OS update which includes a Supersaw type wave, morphing and the mini osc emulation is very exciting news. My ears aren't quite as discriminating as Howard's or others because I have high frequency hearing loss from my bout in the military as a radio...

Hi everyone, this is my first post to the forums but I've been enthusiastically reading them since making my Solaris pre-purchase back in December '07. First off, while I like the idea of a Signature Edition it's just icing on the cake of what will already be a must-own instrument. With that said, ...

I'm not fond of the pad signature idea, to me it would disrupt the beautiful clean lines of the Solaris body. My wife and I have been discussing this for awhile and one thought we had was engraving your signature into the side panel of wood, then highlighting it in black(it would be small enough to ...

1)P08 2)Solaris 3)Prophet 5 4)Microwave XT Now I'll go check the answers. :D one minute later....... Whoo hoo! I got them right and honest I didn't cheat! :D They were all pretty close to my ears(I used headphones) except for the XT which has it's own sound, and at least to me pretty identifiable. T...

John thanks for revealing the answers, it's strange the Prophet 08 is behaving this way. I'm looking forward to the sawtooth examples.

Thanks for the update . :)

Ummm my guess is the same as Howard.
The first one is so rich and beefy it has to be the Prophet 5! :D

Thanks John, that's no problem. It will still be nice to have a basic sequencer to use within the Solaris. It's really just the icing on the cake. :)

Hi John, I've never had an onboard sequencer before so my knowledge of it's possibilities are limited. My thought was I would run midi out to the midi in of the modular and trigger the notes much like an arpeggiator would.

No final decision, but I expect we will have some form of step sequencer in there - it's too important in light of today's method of making sounds. -john b. I have to agree with you john, I definitely would like a 16 step sequencer. I sold off some more stuff and ordered a half-filled dot.com porta...

Hi All, I've just received some really beautifully finished wood end caps as possible variations for those who want the solid wood look. There's three woods used - ash, Pacific Northwest walnut, and red heart maple. I'll try to get photos up of these within the next day or two. (A fourth choice, fi...
