Sorry, it will be quite a while before I can post real sound examples. I don't have a unit here, and wouldn't want to post anything until it's all up and functional anyway....

Re: "Pie in the sky" ideas

Hi Tom, Here's what I can tell you for each of your points: 1) polyphonic after touch - this is more a limitation of what keyboard beds we can purchase. We are currently using a keyboard from Fatar, and they do not provide a polyphonic AT board. I would LOVE to have one, but there's not a commercial...

Mitchk, I'll try to answer your questions: 1) S&H Filter - will investigate 2) bitcrush/sample rate reduction - yes, planned 3) Tube filter - by this I mean a variation of the comb filter that can be used to simulate Karplus-Strong type of 'plucked string' sounds (like the Comb- in Waldorf Q) 4)...

Paul, The preset structure is completely different, as the hardware Solaris is not using anything from the Scope system (although eventually I hope to port over some of the special DSP files, such as components from the Minimax and Pro-12). There is a USB connector, and there will be an online edito...

Hi Paul,

No plans to make a keyboardless expander at this time, sorry.
There is room, however, for an expansion board inside...

Hi there, Perhaps I missed it. Will there be a HARD SYNC function for the OSC? Yes, of course - sync will be available on the synth oscillators, both in the traditional 'hard sync' sound you know, and from a gate/note-on event, like the Retrigger function for the LFOs (you can set the initial Phase...

Hi Woody, The way it's set up, there's very little paging for some of the displays, however I suppose we could make it to have the option of remembering the position of the cursors and pages with each preset. Maybe in a Global setting, for example, because there are also other issues where I want to...

Yes, actually I have a new update for the plug-in coming as well, which will contain the additional filters, and also a few changes to the MIDI clocking of envelopes...and perhaps a few more goodies, depending on time.

New demo of my Pro One plug-in

http://www.johnbowen.com/zargmusic/MP3_Demos/Zigma_BP_HP_DEMO-256.mp3 Wow! I had this customer contact me about buying the Pro One plug-in I made some time ago, and shortly after I sold it to him, he wrote to ask if I could add some highpass and bandpass filters (like I did for another Scope plug-in...

Yes, there is a button on the main graphics display panel for Sequencer, but I'm not certain how intuitive it's going to be, as I've had to use this '5 knob' approach, and even with the 2 rows, one would have to page back and forth to get 2 sections of 8 (for 16 steps), or 4 pages for 32 steps, etc....

Solaris keyboard - specifications

Hi All, I know that many are asking about the projected price and delivery date of Solaris, as well the exact specifications (for those unfamiliar with the plug-in version). Here's what I can tell you so far: 1) Price - expected to be between $4000-$4500 2) Availability - now changed to June 2010 We...

Welcome!

I'd like to welcome all interested parties and potential users of my new hardware version of the Solaris synthesizer! Since the product is still in development, I know there's lots of questions, and over the next several weeks I hope to add more information to this site. For now, I would like to inv...
