You're not alone - I cannot using USB midi with my Mac/Cubase setup.
The Mac doesn't crash for me though - the Solaris does.

Re: Automating the Solaris using cubase?
I am in exactly the same situation! I haven't managed to get this to work at all yet either with Cubase 7. I was wondering about using 'Lemur' on the iPad as a solution? But even better would be a VST plugin virtual instrument as Moog have done with the Voyager SE editor/Librarian.This is just a 'go...

Re: NRPN & Cubase
Fortunately I do have a crew to carry & Setup my rig on tour - but in my alternative life in my studio control is everything and I've only the two hands so even if it's boring (I completely agree!) automation of parameters is a necessary evil I'm afraid...

Re: NRPN & Cubase
Sounds like we've lots in common - I've a moog Ring mod, phaser & delay which I often put between my C3 or A100 & Leslie.
But gambling is the only addiction I've managed to avoid so far in life.
But seriously Jimmy what's your thoughts on all this NRPN business?

Re: NRPN & Cubase
Is it just me or didn't any of the other Solaris owners get their synths out of the box yet?

Re: NRPN & Cubase
Sorry Jimmy, I've no idea what you're talking about - growing up in Kent in the SE of England we had none of that in the Church of England, nothing happy clappy - just fire & brimstone and pastoral hymns. But as Charles Darwin lived & worked in the village where I grew up I'm more of an evol...

Re: NRPN & Cubase
We can start a whole new thread on bikinis Jimmy! :-) Don't worry - I can't give up performing either! I had to look up what a MidiOx is and a BCF2000 - now I know why - I'm a Mac user so MidiOx won't be able to help me unfortunately. Moog recently released a nice VST plugin which handles all the au...

Re: NRPN & Cubase
I had Tx - on Rx-on MIDIctrl-on ClkSrc-Ext Vol-on, Ch-1 PrgChnag-On SendArp-off Omni-off Local Off-On Sure - this automation level is really specific to studio intensive control. How did you know she wears a black bikini Jimmy? But I like to keep all the inputs and outputs covered in the shots - see...

Re: NRPN & Cubase
Yes, I seem to get the same CC message all the time, but and John mentioned that the ribbon controller isn't transmitting midi data at the moment. Avoiding maths is my speciality as my ears are I think lager than my brain Jimmy! :-) I would have expected with Solaris local off and no midi filter app...

Re: NRPN & Cubase
Great, thanks gentlemen! I really appreciate your help 'cos it seems a shame to have the BEST synth in the world and not be able to automate it!
It says something when you use a Solaris for Minimoog lines instead of the Voyager sitting next to it.....

NRPN & Cubase
Has anyone had any joy automating all the parameters on their Solaris with Cubase using NRPN? I've pulled the last of my hair out on this..... tried using USB & the midi in/outs fiddling with the midi filter preferences in Cubase...Quick Controls settings... Generic Midi device setup ....@£$%^&a...

OS Update schedule
Dear JB, Naturally we all know how long a piece of string is, but can you give any information about when we can expect the next OS update to resolve some of the bugs? (and if Christmas comes early implement some of the suggestions posted here?) Thanks.
