Re: Basic Collection
noise.png The collection has grown to 61 presets, that's 24 more than the last release provided. It's called the »Pollution Release« since inharmonic frequencies played a major role while programming some of the new presets. Meanwhile I programmed (and released) about 90 patches for the Solaris. I ...

Re: VCA1 silent due to sigma curve of VCA3
Thanks a lot for your effort. Concerning the lag processors, it is my default setup to emulate the »Edge« parameter of the Korg Z1. It allows to control the partials right at the source. Press the Shift button and slowly increase the lag time and it will remove higher frequencies, similar to a low p...

VCA1 silent due to sigma curve of VCA3
Hi,
I have no clue whether this one is a bug or a user error, so here it is:
Load P56.PRE. Part 1 is enabled, but the Solaris is silent.
Switch to VCA 3. Change its curve from Sigma to Linear.
The silence is gone.

Access Virus Ti Legacy Collection
Access_Virus_TI2_display.png I've split the former »Virus & Z1 Legacy Collection« into separate banks, since it makes it easier for me to keep track of my work. Most sounds of this bank have thus been published before, but you'll find a couple of new patches. The set includes two digital pad so...

Optionally map part buttons to one of the mixers
During the programming process, a quick possibility to switch oscillators on and off would be appreciated (the Korg Z1 provides front panel buttons for Osc1, 2, sub, and noise). Since I often work with one part only, the four part buttons are often left unused. Remappign the part buttons from the VC...

Re: CF card FAQ
Hi,
I kept the original card separate and did copy its contents to another card using the finder. I doubt that any issue results from that procedure.

Thanks for leaking the information, John. It's much appreciated.

Korg Z1 Legacy Collection
Korg Z1.png I've split the former »Virus & Z1 Legacy Collection« into separate banks, since it makes it easier for me to keep track of my work. The two sounds have grown to nine. The Korg Z1 in general sounds more moving and living as the Solaris does, which is especially true for pad sounds. O...

Basic Collection - Manticore Release
Here is a minor update, just adding six presets. It's called the »Manticore Release«, due to the last four presets. The sounds are provided free of charge, free to use for any purpose (e.g. »Public Domain«). As a reward, I'm always interested in feedback and even derived works (patches, audio files)...

Re: PWM on SAW waves
Today I tried to emulate some pad sounds of the Korg Z1. Frankly, while the Solaris' strength are lead sounds, it is weak concerning pads. one oscillator of the Z1 with a modulated sawtooth without any effects applied sounds featter as two detuned sawteeth of the Solaris plus chorus. As an approxima...

Re: Global overdrive/distortion effects wanted
Meanwhile I tried emulating a couple of lead sounds of the Access Virus and the Korg Z1, though to little avail. The latter one hosts a sound called »Syndicate Lead«, built on top of a oscillator with sync controlled by an envelope (the Solaris can do) plus overdrive. Without the overdrive, it loose...

Re: Holiday season wish
I'm also eagerly waiting for the Xmas break. Concerning an OS update, I guess it depends a lot on the budget available. If I had three wishes granted, I'd aks for fixes, "pulse width modulation" for waveforms other than pulse waves, and last but not least my top wish, a global overdrive/di...

Re: Sustain pedal cuts notes
Same here. My current workaround reads as »Don't touch the sustain pedal«. I wouldn't complain I could eventually use it, though .
