Richard, That's a pretty fair description, I think. Also, the output of the TI is really 'hot', making it sound very aggressive to me. Then there are the little tricks such as the transient sample they use to insert a 'pop' or 'punch' at the note-on event. It definitely makes for a certain type of s...

I can't say regarding the Virus B - I only played with the TI - but I would say the Virus has more 'hardness' to it - I don't know how else to describe it in my mind.

I would think that the Solaris would have the Virus covered, wouldn't you agree? My sense, after some extended lilstening to a Virus TI, is that the Solaris will not be able to give you the same kind of character - the algorithms that produce the "Virus sound" are pretty different from wh...

The more I read and learn about the Solaris the more I want one. VS, PPG... and my gut feeling is that careful work with samples and response will give it a stunning piano as well as the pure synthesis stuff. I am unbelievably into it. Richard, just a brief reminder here - the sample RAM planned is...

Here's a posting in another forum - he does a great job reviewing things at NAMM, and has some very positive comments at the end (when you scroll down) regarding the Solaris:

Here's a video link with Bernard Wong (a pre-order customer who came along to help) describing some of the functions of Solaris:

Hi Shayne, They tell me now to expect 15-18 voices with the system going full - all 4 filters, oscs, etc. For the first release, they won't have the DSP offloading per configuration, as I do in the plug-in (Juergen says this will take a bit more time to program). I guess this means no matter the con...

Matt,
While currently the LFOs have pretty much the standard choices, as you mention, keep in mind that you can use any of the regular Oscillators as lfos as well. This provides you with a much wider variety. Hopefully we can add some more waveshapes to the LFOs in the next release.

John, There was a question over at VSE about the Hard sync; whether multimode was the only filter type available for that function. Someone was curious about hard syncing the P5 OSC type. Will this be available during the initial release? If not is it on the planned to-do list for future OS updates...

marzzz,

And I'll be very interested in your comments about the sound! Mind you, I don't think the basement section (Hall E) at NAMM is the most pristine environment to hear such details, but we'll give it a go as best we can there.

I've copied my very first page posted on this forum regarding the specifications (way back in the beginning) to make some current updates, now that we are getting towards production release. I've deleted items and made changes where appropriate: * Price - retail US price will be $3,999 * General ava...
