Filter saturation curves?
I know it's comparing apples with pears. But here it is anyway. I noticed that many sounds I like from the Virus get their special character by its different filter saturation curves. I also remember that the original microWave could be forced to saturate its mixer by sending it certain waves at max...

Store button state per patch
The state of the assignable buttons isn't saved and loaded per patch. Other synths behave the other way around, and I got used to the latter ones .

Insert and backspace during patch name edit
When saving a patch, I miss insert blank and backspace. What about Shift and the +- buttons?

Non-linear keytracking
The Z1 features the possiblity of non-linear keytracking, with two poles, and two values setting the top most and lowest value, resulting in three sections, the middle one being flat. In case there is any possibility in the Solaris to achieve this with the existing modules, please let me know. Other...

Oscillator glide time not modulatable
I often program lead sounds with little portamento applied, while using a front panel button to add some time for parts of a solo. Unfortunately I cannot do this on the Solaris.

Pitch wheel missing as a common modulator
I'm missing the pitch wheel as a common modulation source. I created a sound consisting of a resonant filter only and cannot use it for pitch bending by modulating the filter cutoff. Additionally I want to use the wheel for both the common pitch and a mixer respectively amp modulator to emphasize pa...

More modulation slots for the mixer
I wanted to alter the volume of one oscillator by both the modulation wheel as well as the velocity. Thanks to the Solaris I can do that somehow, but at least a second modulation slot would be convenient.

More modulation sources for EG parameters
I miss a couple of modulation sources for the EGs. Examples: - The sustain slope is a great parameter, but it immediately falls down after reaching its maximum value instead of remaining there. I thus wanted to modulate it by a slow triangle LFO (or maybe an other EG), but both aren't there. - On an...

Re: Quantize CV would be nice
I'd also be interested in a quantizer. Besides other uses, I'd like to pipe the ribbon through it, to allow for glissandi or to map it to note pitches.

Re: PWM on SAW waves
I support this request. many sounds of the Virus sound interesting due to oscillator modulation. It provides both a shape and pusewidth parameter. The same is valid for the Z1. It provides an edge parameter, which damps the harmonics (effectively a low pass filter), plus a »form« parameter, which me...

Re: 54 patches after 1 month of Solaris
Found a couple of nuggets in your bank, so thanks a bunch.
BTW: Is there a patch volume parameter somewhere so as to lower the volume of, e.g., patches 42 and 43 and save the setting as part of the preset?

Re: Virus & Z1 Legacy Collection
To add to the confusion, it actually is in the oscillator section. But on oscillators 3, Source 3 and 4 only .

Virus & Z1 Legacy Collection
Here are a fistful of presets, mainly modeled after sounds of a Korg Z1 and an Access Virus TI.

Re: Expression pedal mapping
Yep, here as well on a Virus TI. I often use the foot pedal (MIDI CC #4) to repeat the modulation of the mod wheel or some other modulation (like applying some ring modulation), which is useful for accenting notes while playing with both hands.

Re: The synth freezes on boot
Happened to me at the very first boot after purchase. Connections have been Analog out 1&2, Yamaha FC5, Yamaha FC7, and USB connected to Mac OS X 10.7.5. I disconnected the foot controllers and the USB cable, and Solaris did boot. Tried again with the cables connected, no problem => no reproduca...
