Re: Analog random control signal emulation

It seems to me that the most accurate and "analog" proposal to this would be the third. If I understand you on this, the drift would be completely random, and would vary, in real time, just like a oscillator randomly drifting without retriggering. You could really hear it change in real ti...

Re: Analog random control signal emulation

Even though this synth sounds amazingly analog, this feature might be very useful. Is there any chance of this feature being added in a OS update, John ??

Re: Original front panel graphics

That original panel looks so much like the Oberheim OBX series….it really looks so much better now.

Re: Not keen on Preset organising scheme

Thanks, John. In my zeal to dig in, I only skimmed thru the manual. I'll dig into it this weekend.

Re: Not keen on Preset organising scheme

I have a great idea, if possible. I'm wondering if it will be possible to organize these patches into groups, like analog, digital, favorites 1,2, etc....possibly even letting you name your different cat agonies. The Virus TI impliments this type of internal organization, which makes it much faster ...

Volume drop outs, and system lock-up

My Solaris will go from a normal volume to about 1/3 volume, for no apparent reason. After several minutes (or shutting it off and re-booting it), the volume comes back for awhile. Also, sometimes it will "lock up", making it impossible to changes patches, settings........or even play. Aga...

Re: Your views on the overall feel?

Overall, I love the feel of this synth...it definitely gives the impression of a fine crafted instrument (ala Moog Voyager or Virus TI). My pitch/mod wheels are very stable, with no lateral play whatsoever. ..all the pots seem very stable, with little lateral play as well...the key feel is exactly l...

Re: Announce when you receive your Solaris!

I got my white Solaris #38 on Dec. 16 (I'm in Central California)"...what a beauty. The dark Solaris does conjure up thoughts of the old Oberheim Matrix-12; but the light colored one definitely reminds me of the old Oberheim -2,-4, and -8 voice SEM based synths. And the build quality and keyed ...

Aesthetic suggestion...

Hello John...With all of the technical and software questions that you have fielded in the developement of the Solaris, I would like to throw you a curveball in a different direction. When I was at NAMM, I was looking at the Solaris, and something caught my eye. I am a longtime Virus keyboard owner,...

NAMM 2010

I got to attend the NAMM 2010, and went straight for the Solaris booth. All I can say is "WOW". This synth seriously smokes...it has a presence live that just doesn't come over the computer speakers. The four osc. sound is massive...very reminicent of the old Oberheim synths...as a matter ...

I ordered the olive (light) version, with cherry wood sides. I have always thought that wood sides add a real touch of class, and a mid-shade cherry wood shows that beautiful graining so well. As far as the light color, I feel that it looks good while not looking like most other keyboards. And it wi...

...I'll probably draw fire on this one, but let's not cut off our noses to spite our faces !! Of course, the Solaris is not meant to be a Rompler...or a analog wanna-be...or a workstation. But there are features of those that could be very useful in the same way the the D-50 used sampled snippets of...

It's the keyboard version all the way for me. With a beautiful display like that, I have to be able to directly control the instrument with my hands on it (it's a mental block, I know). Most of the keyboards that I own (outside of my Hammonds) come in a expander keyboardless version, but I opt for t...
