I'll go for the XXLarge when available - please let us know where and how to purchase. FYI - I was playing around with phase modulation synthesis recently and I have to say that you do a *huge* bang for the buck!!! (hint) Let us know where to buy T-Shirts :) re: T-shirts - funny you should ask! Yes,...

EXPANSIONS & FUTURE UPGRADES I AM WILLING TO PAY FOR
Hi, I am willing to pay for: 1) More oscillator types: FM Synthesis and Algorithm Pack - especially if it can import the old DX7 (and do twin, like DX-1) patches or the kinds of oscillators that the DK Synergy used (hey, that's an old z80 cpu ... I've got two of them and they still sound incredible ...

Something Like Sourceforge for Sound for Solaris ... ?
I wasn't familiar with Midi Quest, so I went to have a look. I was surprised they did not list any DSI products (Evolver, Prophet 08, etc.)...but certainly there's many they do support. I have a feeling the Solaris would have to be pretty high in number of units sold before they would be interested...

WIKI MANUAL & WEB PAGES
Hi John, It's great to see a PDF manual - however, for the real thing, I would prefer a a set of Web-Pages with hyperlinks added in over time as well as web-pages for users to edit - a Wiki concept. I am a big fan of the Wiki idea and Symbolic Sound uses that concept highly effectively. Thanks, Arun

We have had preliminary discussions with Psicraft Designs (creators of the Vyzor product line) to create an editor for Solaris. Here's what they've done for other synths so far: http://www.vyzor.com/ I will copy your suggestions and send them along to the people at Psicraft. Once I can get them a p...

Solaris Visual / Patch Designer Software / Librarian
Hi, I looked on the site and perhaps I am getting blind in my senior days but I didn't notice anything about an editor/librarian for the Solaris. For example, while it is really great to have all the knobs to tweak, I am wondering if there are any plans for an editor/librarian (maybe in Max/MSP) or ...

NP. And actually - you mentioned the DX7 in your list, and that type of oscillator we do NOT have as of yet. Linear FM is available, but that's not how the DX7 works - we need a special osc type that handles phase modulation. (And yes, it's on the To Do list, but I'm pretty sure it will not get don...

Re: SOLARIS - Future Synth. Oscillator / Envelope Models / O
[edit]...One example of a synthesizer oscillator model is the model used in the old Digital Keyboards Synergy Synthesizer and its ability to track two hands independently - for example as my left hand plays a scale going down and my right hand plays a scale going up, then the left hand portamento w...

Agreed :)
General response: what we have now is a near approximation of at least 1. Oberheim Matrix 2. Moog MiniMoog 3. SCI Prophet 5 4. SCI Prophet VS 5. PPG Wave 6. Yamaha DX7 FM 7. Rotors 8. AM 9. Samples Let's not get too greedy. I am fairly interested in some other types of Synthesis as well. But...

SOLARIS - Future Synth. Oscillator / Envelope Models / OSC
Hi, I'm a newbie (my order for a Solaris is in) to the posts but I have a few thoughts that I would like to share. Given the Solaris is software that can be updated, I was wondering how hard it would be to add different kinds of models from the synthesizers of yesteryear? One example of a synthesize...

First Thing I will do qith My Solaris
Write a great new song.
Write good music.
I've done a lot of film-work and album-work and other stuff.
This is one of MY instruments and I can personalize it and make it MINE.
So, I will be judged by however good I get to be with it.

Re: Super deluxe Solaris
Just for fun, let's say the Solaris goes into production shortly and sells reasonably well, enough that JB can consider a "Super Deluxe" version (as sort of mentioned in the I/O topic with regard to AES digital outs). Within reason , i.e., given that the Solaris is currently $3999 and a &...
