Hello Solaris brothers (and sisters):
Anybody get those knobs to send midi CC?
I downloaded a trial of Midi Bome and was able to capture the sysex knob data and convert it to CC.
But ... I can not get the CC data to read 0-127
Is it possible to do this?
Thanks

Re: Developer Fund
Any news on this? I’d love for someone to get started on a utility/librarian. I keep putting off organizing presets cause it’s no fun :( Keep us updated. OK Everyone! I have a response from MIDi Quest regarding a full-fledged editor software package. The estimated cost is $10,000-$14,000 to develop...

Re: other Solaris hardware ideas
Have you also looked at an internal board upgrade, instead of building an external box? Yes, this is already in the works, as I’ve posted elsewhere, but it will take quite some time to get it working. All the code has to be migrated to the new board. It will be an interesting puzzle. To balance tim...

Re: Developer Fund
John, I would vote that part of the developer fund be used to hire someone to work on the external utilities (if the original developers will open source their code). It might not be a huge project to combine, polish and finish them, and there is sure to be someone skilled in external librarian/util...

Re: Developer Fund
You could also accomplish visual feedback and tracing by building an external editor app. The bulk of the programming workflow could still be on the Solaris but you could scrub, tweak and check your work on the external app. This just another angle to look at the issue, I am not sure it’s the optima...

Re: other Solaris hardware ideas
I’ve had posts about OLED displays before - right now there aren’t any OLED displays that would fill the cutout, so we would have to produce a new top panel metalwork for it to not look ‘funny’ (unless you are OK with having a large border around it to fill the space). Current graphics display has ...

Re: other Solaris hardware ideas
As an existing owner I would buy an *internal* hardware upgrade. I would also buy a OLED screen retrofit. I would not buy a separate rack extender. Don’t have room, don’t want to wire up an external box. For new owners, I think you have to go with the knobby extender option. I don’t see you selling ...

Re: Developer Fund
I am not sure I’d want it to become a five voice. Could live with a six voice  The challenge of programming to current hardware spec begs the question of an internal processor and storage upgrade. As we all know, there is tremendous power and storage available these days. That is prob a huge pr...

Re: Developer Fund
Yes, but all of those utilities are separate from the development being discussed here. I think you are suggesting a general Developer Fund, not one solely dedicated to DSP enhancements? Yes. I’d actually prefer spending first on useability (library utility) and workflow (like multi and sample hand...

Re: Developer Fund
is this the same developer that did 1.3.x? No, this would be a new software developer for the DSP part of the Solaris. That concerns new features that are in the ‘synth voice’ portion of the code, such as new oscs or filters, or other things that are handled on a per voice basis, as well as the Mas...

Re: Developer Fund
It’s important to know how much more owners would be willing to pay. This would affect the schedule significantly in terms of being able to get things up and running quickly. Please everyone let me know. Here’s a fun idea - what if everyone gets to vote on order of (say top 3 or 5) goals. $200 per ...

Re: Developer Fund
Been contemplating this today and I keep coming back to building out sample oscillators as a good direction for Solaris. It's an epic synth, but synth layered with samples would be so epic. Imaging the soundscapes you could make, if you could upload sounds, modulate sample start, sample end, sample ...
