Saving your Global INIT file

I have been receiving several comments about not being able to save the MIDI settings, or foot pedal polarity, and I guess this is something that is not very clear in the User Guide, so I wanted to post it here as well: To have the Solaris boot up each time in the settings you want, you need to save...

Well, if you got to know Jimmy, you would understand why :-)

Hmmm, interesting! We should change that....

Re: Synchro midi and Arp

Well, the display of tempo fluctuating 1 number up or down is not necessarily the problem - I've seen this in other devices in the past, and it had nothing to do with the actual tracking - just something with the displayed tempo However, obviously there is a sync problem in these audio examples. Jul...

Re: Synchro midi and Arp

In your audio example, when the Solaris comes in, it already is not on the beat, so I think you need to set it to External clock first, then start up/run the clock, THEN turn on the arpeggiator.

Still, one can hear a drift...but please try this first, just to check.

Re: Automating the Solaris using cubase?

Thank you for really making a clear explanation!!
It seems I could help things by publishing a list of all the NRPN numbers in hex, or a chart giving MSB/LSB for each so people won't have to do the math. It's just...there are a lot of parameters!

Re: Automating the Solaris using cubase?

You have to put the CC99 first then follow it with the NRPN each time you want to send a controlling value.

new LXR drum box

This is related to the Solaris only in that the fellow who coded parts of the Solaris OS (not the DSP code) is also selling this DIY kit for a drum machine, and I thought I should post it here, in case there's anyone who would like to support him with his project. http://www.sonic-potions.com/ It's ...

Re: Automating the Solaris using cubase?

Yes, as I mentioned, each parameter has to be identified before the value is sent. If you didn't see a CC99 or CC98, then no parameter was being defined, and therefore, the incoming data is affecting the most recent parameter. There's actually 4 entries we seem to be needing: the parameter identifie...
