Re: Solaris Factory Preset info
I always find that the best approach is to spend time understanding what the programmers have done. Already, you have a wide range of sounds at your disposal, so there is plenty to learn.Soul circuits wrote:I'm not really comfortable to start from scratch on my current synths to be honest tough

Re: Reverb....
I don't know about the feasibility of this, but since the Scope SDK is available (soon to be replaced by a spanking new version, as per Sonic Core statement), could Solaris users with the know-how collaborate via a scheme like soundforge.net to develop new algorythms for the Solaris? There is no mon...

Not just good, but GREAT idea!
This is akin to what DSi were doing with the PolyEvolver rack, sadly defunct.

Re: Wish List For Next firmware update 2012
I don't understand this obsession with sampling on the Solaris. The current ability to use any WAV as an oscillator is enough for me. There are better tools out there to do sampling. So I'd rather John and SC concentrate on other features.

I would also cast my vote for a CS80 osc/filter emulation, with ARP 2500/2600 coming second.

Re: CF card reader
I've been using this Belkin card reader for a while now. It reads just about everything without any fuss. Besides the Solaris, I also use it to read my son's PSP memory stick, various camera cards such as xD, CF, SD and MMC. It even copes with the newer Mini and Micro formatm such as those used with...

Re: Reverb....
Wish you could manage to get the Sonic Timeworks reverbs 100 series working on the Solaris. They are very good and do not eat a lot of resources.
Saying that, Sonic Timeworks have stopped all development on Scope, so it's unlikely he would be interested in tweaking his code for the Solaris.

Converting audio file to RAW for Solaris
I spent some time trawling through many programs that do sound conversion. To start with, I found that very few utilities advertised for sound conversion can actually cope with RAW as an output format. So I grabbed a copy of all I found, installed and tested them. This is what I recommend if you wan...

Possible tool for DAW control panel
I've just discovered a tool called Ctrl, free, working on Linux, Mac and PC, which enables you to build control panels to remotely access your synth from your DAW. I'm thinking this could be the ideal tool to make a Solaris control panel once the MIDI implementation is complete. In any case, it is v...

Re: Proper Sample Format
Thanks for the explanation. What are people using to convert to raw? Up to now I was using a great program on PC called FairStars Audio Converter, which deals with most format, but doesn't have RAW as an output option. So I need to find something that will output to RAW. Quick check online and it se...
