Re: simple question from a newbie regarding filter settings

Just modulate both filter's cutoff with the same parameter. For example, you could set Filter1 to be modulated by the Mod wheel or ribbon, then just set up Filter2 identically (or copy Filter1 to Filter 2) - both filters will be modified at the same time in the same way. If you are just statically s...

Re: Andromeda owners and Solaris , please share your thoughts !

Thanks for pointing that out John, I "knew" that was possible (it is right there in the menus), but the penny hadn't fully dropped. That is wild! It really is a self-contained digital modular synthesizer in so many ways.

Re: simple question from a newbie regarding filter settings

Sure, just copy the filter settings from filter1 to filter2. You can do this by holding the filter1 button until it flashes, then just press the the filter2 button. Presto! Everything is duplicated, including your modulation settings. Unless I am misunderstanding, this should result in what you are ...

Re: Sound design walk-through wanted

http://www.syntorial.com/ Highly recommended. You need to know what sound characteristics come from the oscilators, filters, and envelopes. You can also check out the Sound-on-Sound archives. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/allsynthsecrets.htm They had a series of articles called "Synth Secrets...

Re: Load SingleCycle Waves?

To close this out until features can be added, I was forgetting to load the samples from the global screen. Once I did that, I was able to play the wave, but as John mentioned, it was distorted and not correct, so whatever bug that is definitely affects the ability to play single-cycle waves. While ...

Re: Load SingleCycle Waves?

Koenig, If you have Alchemy or Absynth, I'd encourage you to pick up one of the wavesets mentioned in this thread and play with them. Quite amazing. Because the Solaris has a better architecture than Alchemy, any existing patch that I have could easily be put on the Solaris and improved. If this fea...

Re: Load SingleCycle Waves?

I converted it to 16-bit, 44.1 kHz WAV and then ran it through the SamplePooler app to get the RAW. I suspect based on your comments that is the issue. If I am only going to hit another bug, I'll hold off for now. I don't own translator, and would only get it if it was a known good path to full succ...

Re: Load SingleCycle Waves?

John, For Alchemy and Absynth, I have the formats that are native for those synths. They provide separate folders for the OSC waves and the LFO waves. I have not investigated the difference, but can if it is important to you. On their holiday sale, I bought the 32-bit WAV version for $20 to see if I...

Re: Load SingleCycle Waves?

John, These waves from Galbanum are wonderful in Alchemy. They way they are constructed and organized is so useful! Because each set progressively adds harmonics, I can easily control the harmonic richness at the oscillator and do many very subtle things that make filters seem like a coarse brush. B...

Re: Load SingleCycle Waves?

Thanks John! Appreciate the clarity.

I still can't get it to work. I changed the loopstart to "0" and the loop end to "2047" and it gives the same error.

I deleted the map file per your suggestion.

Any other suggestions?

Re: Load SingleCycle Waves?

John, I picked one of the first waves in the set.... Originally called BinAdd Arth 00000001.wav I converted it using Audacity. SamplePooler made me a .txt of the same name. This gave me an error, which I assumed was due to the filename. I changed it to BinAdd.raw on the CF card and also edited the T...

Re: Load SingleCycle Waves?

The thing that is interesting about these waves to me is that some of them add in particular harmonics, or other "additive" kinds of ideas. They are very useful inside Absynth where any wave can be used as a mod source for another. I think I'll order up the WAV version and give it a go... ...

Re: Load SingleCycle Waves?

John,

Thanks for the reply, and my apologies for a late response. It has been a busy month and I forgot I posted this here. I will give that a try! A lot of the waves are simple enough that they should do fun stuff inside the Solaris!

Load SingleCycle Waves?

John, I just picked up the Galbanum Archicture 2010 ( http://galbanum.com/products/architecturewaveforms2010 ) set of waves for use with Alchemy and Absynth. The Solaris plays historic wave tables.... is it possible to load up waves? The Galbanum stuff is available as 32bit waves, etc. I was wonderi...

I am using Mainstage and not Logic on OSX 10.9.2. I had the issue you described and switched to physical MIDI port and have not had any issues since.
