Does Solaris really need a step sequencer?
I don't think that this is a priority, but having used evOLver since March 2003, I would say that is may be a useful addition at some time in the future. I'd love to hear the effects of a running sequence with adjustments made to some of the more obscure filters in a live situation.

I understand John's concern at achieving his deadlines. Getting Solaris out there for the world to see and review should hopefully bring the interest to let John introduce other unique ideas. I'm just a humble user who likes to try out unusual configurations. I'm sure that once Solaris is out and ab...

The Etherwave-Pro uses CV for pitch and volume doesn't it? What are you using to convert the CV data to midi? (wondering where the 48 note constraint comes from as the Etherwave-Pro claims to span 6.5 octaves). This is really off topic, but I use a MCV1a theremin to MIDI converter. To bring it back...

Someone mentioned the Synthi AKS. The EMS has a very individual sounding 18dB filter and sounds different to anything else I've heard. Especially when you pile on the resonanace it knocks the socks of everything. If you could get permission to emulate it, and of course get the algorithms to do it, I...

Quantum Wave
Quantum Wave is a huge monster plug-in which John created based around the the Waldorf Wave. Like all of John's work it has character and masses of parameters to get your head around. Even though it ONLY has 4 instruments (the WAVE has eight :o ), this is much much more than you'll ever need once yo...

I'm extremely happy with the sound of the Solaris V4 plug-in. There are so many tools at your disposal and if you decide to sit down and tinker with the different oscillators, filters etc etc then you can build HUGE sounds of every type whether it's bass, lead or pads. I love building huge swirling ...

Hi John, on the sequencer theme for ideas, I guess you've already thought of sequencing various VCF/VCA parameters as well as note values. I don't know how easy, useful or viable a wavetable sequencer might be as setting up a user table to be sequenced would in my opinion be the first step to allow ...

It makes good sense to me to keep the plug-in version going as the hard and software versions will complement each other and the userbase can hopefully still share ideas with each other. I wonder if John can comment on the preset structure ? Are they compatible? Or will there be a utility to import/...

Rotor-EX
John has created some fantastic plug-ins, but I guess that Rotor-EX is one of my favourites. It can take hours to set up a 4 rotor preset, but it never ever gets boring, coz you bump into some other great sounds on the way.
