Here are 2 pieces that carbon111 made with the prototype Solaris a little while ago: http://www.carbon111.com/music/november.mp3 With his notes on the synths used: "Nord Stage plays the plucky soft/metallic sound and a little bit of acoustic piano. All other sounds are courtesy of the Solaris p...

What you have to know about the Rotor object is that it takes 4 inputs and combines them into a single output, like the Vector Mixers. In fact, you could simulate both the Rotor and Vector sections by just using one of the standard Mixers, and carefully applying modulation to each input accordingly....

About the rotors, is it possible to have the waves/sounds in the rotors modulated and auto panned within the 5.1 or 7.1 field ? so that sounds which were in the say left ch modulate say the resonance of a sound on the right or centre ch ? can aftertouch send signals to pan/modulate (adding snyced d...

Have you had a listen to redmartian's short song he put together using the Solaris proto? http://redmartian.com/solaris/solaris1.mp3 I took the synth over to his studio to do some comparison recordings with some Prophets (Rev 1/2 and Rev 3), and ended up leaving the proto with him for a few days. Si...

There is an 'Insert FX' section where you can route the signals through such processes as Bit Reduction or Sample Frequency Decimation. The wavetables that are included are taken from the original Waldorf tables that were made for the Scope platform back in 1998, and the Prophet VS waveshapes are di...

B787, I definitely appreciate the sentiments expressed in your message, however, I still think that people should not have too much expectations regarding Solaris as a sample-based or sample-processing box - and the Omnisphere (announced as available yesterday) looks to be an incredible tool for a w...

Buddha says, 'All things are possible.' :-) OK, joking aside - I see you are thinking using the ribbon as a pitch control only? It is just another source in the Modulation List, and can be assigned anywhere (and as in the plug-in, all mod amounts are bi-polar). -john b. p.s. we did have that version...

Sure, of course! Unison gets switched on to whatever settings you have in the Unison page, plus you will see that page come up in the graphic display, in case you want to edit it.

Update time! All pre-order customers have been notified of some changes recently made, and now I thought I'd post something for the forums readers here as well. The biggest change is that we were able to work in a ribbon controller to be mounted permanently, as opposed to just providing a jack for t...

Hello All, Today is our last day here in Germany, and we've managed to accomplish quite a lot in the week we've been here. Those of you who have pre-purchased will be getting a full update on things after I have a chance to get caught up back home. We have reviewed everything - the types of knobs us...

I don't mean to rush you in any way :P
Hi Septic,
It's not about rushing us - we are all eager to see the synth to come out soon! It's just having some new options offered to me at this point in the development was tempting enough to be willing to delay things a bit more.

cheers,
John B.

Not to be a killjoy of some sort, but if the Solaris isnt parked in my house in December 08 I must cancel the order I think, I told myself when I bought it, to wait until December. (actually OCT/NOV)...It will be very sad if it must be so, because I think it will be a megasynth. Hi Septic, Certainl...

Hi Everyone! I guess I'm turning this thread into a 'daily diary' a bit. Hope that is OK. Today we spent the whole day (9 hours) with Howard Scarr here. I had invited him up from Frankfurt to have a look at the latest and greatest, and to get his input on some critical things. (Howard is registered ...
