I am happy w/ either design. I too own a Ribbon from Kurzweil, the ancient Expressionmate, not the new software based model. It sets perfectly on my 88 note controller. I can assign it to Solaris channel(s) or wherever it need be. 4 zones allows flexibility live, and Bi-Directional glides like Herbi...

Fluxpad Rocks

I practice and perform in the dark unless it's on my Acoustic. Many people will probably prefer a joystick since it has always been that way. That's cool too, but the Fluxpod is this century and can also double for wavedrawing and radical movements that a joystick would find difficult at best. I lik...

Now that's exciting news. :D

More hardware, and if anyone could bring XITE-1 to the point of optimizing the Project window, it would be from a Bowen synth no doubt.

I say make the circle an LCD underneath with a cutout that would match the other LCD's. In the dark where I am sure many will be using this, especially for us live cats, it would be sick.

At the end of the day, I am more concerned w/ it's awesome sound sculpting possibilities.

Classy, very classy idea. I like it, but I am sure there will be more color options down the line. JB, I was hoping that I had XITE-1 to play with before the release of the hardware Solaris. Just my luck both will be released simultaneously !! :o Fine, I already have 2 DAW's up and running for the g...

I esoecially like the little circle w/ 2 wavy lines. Matches my '61 Chevy Impala logo. :D I bought the car for my son's High School graduation gift which is still 5 years away, and the rare and brand new 396 engine I dropped in it 2 years ago is now 12.000 USD !!! Good thing I bought it when it was ...

I am glad to see so many highly versed guys interested in Solaris. That's a good sign. I am feverish to use Solaris outside of my live projects. And " YES" on the orange SE version. I really envy you John. It must be a very gratifying experience building something so beautiful, and ...

Well having Prowave to use live has been a pleasure for sure. It was a great way to get the Bowen sound w/o having to use Solaris live as I don't have the luxury to load and wait on most gigs. But I was just starting to forget about Prowave when Brotha' Man Tau sent me a great preset from Portugal w...

This is an incerdible time for all of us. Firstly, I think it is an honor to have John Bowen involved on a personal level. I don't ever remember having been involved during the developmental stages during the building of anything other than my house. All involved should be proud. On another note the...

BTW, JBowen must have been cloned considering the amount of work he gets done. I never thought I would see QWave upgraded until after Solaris. Just recieved a BETA 1.2 for QWave w/ Solaris's PolyGlide features. And people wonder why I don't buy Roland, Yamaha, Korg, and Kurzweil products? Their upgr...

If anyone has more information of the functionality of the Super Ribbon, please post it. Maybe JBowen can elaborate on it's particular uses that Solaris could provide. I assume it has a programmable software GUI that can be configured on a PC / Mac. I use a MIDISolution FPB which has configurable op...

I have used the ancient Kurzweil Expressionmate w/ the Solaris plug-in for Scope and already am frothing knowing that I can have an additional Ribbon for the hardware model. If the Super Ribbon can do half of what the EXPM. can do, we are all in for one ---- of a ride. ftp://ftp.kurzweilmusicsystems...
