Re: LED under large wheel (for entry button) non-functional

So, it is working correctly, and not supposed to light up all the time it is used for entry ?? As far as the issue, the polarity on the Expression Pedal was ON, so I turned it off. So far, it has not returned. Now, I did this before, but the setting seems to have reverted back to on since I first se...

Re: LED under large wheel (for entry button) non-functional

Ok John…if I use the Data Wheel to find a patch, then hit the ENTER button, there is no light. But if I use the numeric keypad to enter a location, then hit the ENTER button, it will light up.

LED under large wheel (for entry button) non-functional

Two things going on with my Solaris.... (1)...the LED above the enter button (under large data wheel) does not work...and... (2)...even more disconcerting, the synth will go completely quiet after awhile (instantly, the volume disappears)...and the only way to get it back is to reboot it. Anyone els...

Using Solaris with Kronos...

Tonight, I was playing the Solaris along with my Kronos 88...and I can only describe it as musical heaven !! The Kronos is a rompler-dream, with the best sampled orchestral strings out (IMHO, better than Kurzweil, Yamaha, and Roland). But it's solo and ensemble analog sounds sound extremely pale whe...

Re: Reverb....

A dedicated processor sounds really promising, John...is there then something else in the works along these lines that you can talk about ? Any other plans for this DSP ?? This thing is fun...more fun than I have had in awhile tweaking. Massive analog sounds are so easy....

Reverb....

Hello John...I was reading (in a german magazine interview) that you were planning down the road to put reverb into the O.S...any developments yet ? Will this eat up computing power needed for the voices ? Thanks......

Re: Analog random control signal emulation

I understood that on Karnevil 9, that was not a S&H effect, but was programmed into a step sequencer on Keith's modular Moog. The first sequence is the same note with different filter cutoff settings, and the one at the end of the piece sequences actual different notes. A S&H on the oscillat...

Re: new Ken Elhardt presets

I really didn't read jaykeel's comments as critism per se...KE's patches were great, no matter if someone found them to be their cup of tea or not. I just feel that the old adage of "not looking a gift horse in the mouth" applies here. I am never disappointed by a gift given freely. Thank ...

Re: new Ken Elhardt presets

Absolutely incredible !! IMHO, nothing this impressive could be disappointing, even if it's not what you personally would use (even though I have a Kronos 88, I'll use these). I can't wait to try to take these apart, and see just how KE made them. They show off an aspect of this instrument that fran...

Re: Analog random control signal emulation

Thanks, John. It's greatly appreciated that we can actually contact the designer of a synth, and have our voices heard/acknowledged. Try that with other other synth company !!

Re: Analog random control signal emulation

So…random note is possible with future OS updates I take it…but not rotary assignment ? As an interesting aside, I do remember on one of my all too frequent visits to Sequential Circuits up on First St., Riley in service demonstrated that feature to me on a P-10…but I assumed that it was one of his ...

Re: Analog random control signal emulation

Wow…this subject has gotten over my head. I guess for me, "random" is the key. I remember playing a on a Oberheim 8 voice, which would rotate voices (oscillators) with every key depression. One key depression yielded a perfect unison…the next would give a very slight (.6HZ) variation…maybe...

Re: Problems with effects channels

...unfortunately, that happens, even with the most skilled of endodontists (when I was in school, the need for retreatment of RCT teeth was about 13%). It's a science, albeit not a perfect one...no medicine is, unfortunately. I hope that you're doing better though...
