Solaris v5 plug-on Owner's Manual posted

Some people had asked to see the manual for the plug-in, so I've now posted in the Forum 'User's Guide' section, here: http://forums.johnbowen.com/viewforum.php?f=11 Although there are plenty of differences, I think a good portion of it will still be applicable to the keyboard version (and we are us...

Chris, Wow! Thanks for expressing exactly what I feel and hope for the Solaris - that was a perfect description, and it made me very glad that you were able to articulate it so well! It's also what so many of the pre-order customers have expressed to me privately (though maybe not as eloquently). Th...

Yes, Carbon111 is correct - the Limited Edition silkscreen is only the first 50 units....the only other difference is my signature silkscreened on the back panel. The internals - features, functions, etc., - are all the same as the regular production unit planned. We're not sure if we will continue...

Also, you might want to consider implementing something like velocity sensitivity, i.e. when you quickly rotate the knob it jumps in 10s (or some other useful number) and when you slowly rotate it makes fine adjustments. Or, alternatively, something like a Shift function, whereby pressing Shift and...

No problem Jay....it's just that the pre-order customers usually get a private 'update email', and I've been late on getting out anything recently, with NAMM last month.

sausagefoot, While you can't create a hard split from the keyboard to do this (as I think you are requesting), you can route Key Note as a Modulation Source to the VCAs. Setting one side to +100% and the other to -100% will provide you with a way to create the 'separation' desired, but with each sou...

The final implementation of sample loading has not been fully coded yet. Here's where we are at: Initially, I planned to make it the same as the plug-in, where you can only load a single sample into the Oscillator (not a multisample 'map' of samples). The user would load these samples via a computer...

By private forum, do you mean one guarded by a special 'owners only' password? We can easily set up whatever would work if you would like to have something private. I'll talk to my Web guy about it....

Jimmy,

It's warp69's 'verb that I want to use - he's fine with it, SC is fine with it, we just have to figure out a way to secure each other's code in a way that is satisfactory to each other.

Yes, the effects have been listed in the specifications for some time: http://www.johnbowen.com/solaris-specifications.html "Effects - Phaser, chorus/flanger, delay, and 3-band EQ effects are available. The series order of the FX is user-definable. There are also three (3) Insert Effects, which...

That's correct, we will not have reverb as an effect. There were a few choices, but the one I wanted to use is by Sonic Timeworks, and we still have to work on how 3rd party code is incorporated and protected. -john b. p.s. I would say if you really love your Virus TI, you should keep it - it has a ...

The lighter color is from the RAL K5 classic color pallette (used more in Europe than the U.S.). It is #7032, and is called 'pebble grey'.

The dark color is RAL #9005, called 'jet black'.
