Re: other Solaris hardware ideas

From what is known so far, the Waldorf Quantum looks indeed like a killer Synth - just like the Solaris already is. I never felt G.A.S. as much since the appeareance of the Solaris. This will definitely be my next Synth (and my 5th Waldorf). Can't wait to stack it right on top of my Solaris - it wil...

Compare function might alter modulation sources in 1.4.0.1

As mentioned in another thread, the compare function might alter the modulation source in the edited version of the sound. I.e. if you use compare to switch back to the original sound, and then use compare again switch to the edited sound, the modulation source might be altered. I studied this and f...

Re: Modulation Sources List Messed Up in v1.4

Currently the file name and version is "solarisos_v1.4.0.1.raw.zip", and the OS file is dated Dec 18th 2017 - so in this version the problem is already fixed?

Re: Announcing another major update to the Solaris Operating System, v1.4.0!

John, Jim, thank you SO MUCH for your christmas gift - and in addition nearly a birthday present for me :-). I appreciate the MIDI implementation - can't wait to feed may Mackie C4's and my old faithful Emagic Sounddiver with that.

Season's greetings to you and all Solaris owners!

Re: Favorite Reverb

Nothing special here - Lexicon MX 400, and some old fashioned stuff (Digitech Studio Quad V2, Mackie d8b plugins). Reverb within the Solaris is nice-to-have, but to my opinion not really mandatory. There are so many different and good reverbs available - everyone is free to choose his favourite. How...

Re: other Solaris hardware ideas

Have you also looked at an internal board upgrade, instead of building an external box? Yes, this is already in the works, as I’ve posted elsewhere, but it will take quite some time to get it working. All the code has to be migrated to the new board. Will there be compatibility of the two hardware ...

Re: Developer Fund

The reduction of polyphony from 10 to 5 would be problematic for me; I would not be happy with that. I have no idea of DSP programming, but could it eventuallly be made possible to load the oscillator / filter code to the DSP in a dynamic fashion, so that only code actually needed in a sound would b...

Re: Developer Fund

John, these are great news - thank you. And a big "thank you" to Jim for his efforts and great results to update everything around the DSP code. I would be more than happy to pre-finance the DSP code development. Depending on the features that are going to be implemented, I would be willin...

Re: other Solaris hardware ideas

Hello John, this is a great thread. While our beloved Solaris is being brought to perfection by the joint efforts of Jim and you, you are looking further into the future. Great :-) Here are my personal thoughts about your proposals. Options 1 and 4 would probably have non-Solaris owners as target au...

Re: Keytrack modulate a decay time

This problem seems still to be present in the v1.3 OS, so maybe it will be addressed in a later release?

Re: Welcome!

Hi R.M., welcome to the forum. No I did not have that problem - I still use the legacy stuff from Ultimate Support. There is a company in Germany that builds stands and components that are compatible, and I ordered from them to extend my stands - worked well. Might be interesting for you, if the shi...

Re: Waldorf XTk

I have both the Microwave XT (Rack) and the Solaris - and love them both, and would never sell either of them. One advantage of the Solaris is that you can use four oscillators per voice and each of them can have its own wavetable (as opposed to one common wavetable for the two oscillators of the MW...
