Re: SOLARIS ULTRA

I ran the SOLARIS through my MODCAN - sounds great and the these two go together really well. On the MODCAN I have the Oberheim MATRIX filters, the MOOG ladders and ARP filters (all analog) and I have enough in my modular (112 modules) to run full polyphony with the SOLARIS. THe other synth that rea...

Re: Current State of the Solaris OS and Ongoing Development

Personally, I have not had any MIDI issues. But, most of the time, I am playing SOLARIS through a KURZWEIL MIDI BOARD routed with MIDI conversion through ABLETON (so I can have channel based on mono per channel polyphonic aftertouch). Works for me. I am feel bad to have not yet posted a video but ti...

Re: Polyphonic Aftertouch As A Modulation Source

Also, you can use midi - mapping. I use the Ableton environment with MAX for LIVE to do some neat homebrew midi SOLARIS and it works really, really well. Oh, and by the way, I am NEVER selling the machine though it would be great to get the SOLARIS sources so I could perhaps publish some open-source...

Controller Inversion Feature Request

I would like to have an "invert" controller in the CALIBRATION setup as well as a seperate "invert" controller in the performance (main LCD) setup. This would be super useful for many different reasons. For example, it is nice to sometimes have inversion of control as a global wi...

REVIEW: Experience with the SOLARIS SYNTH

This is a post about my user experiences. Now that I have had the time to re-adjust my workflow (which is normal for any new synth), and getting used to intuitively looking to the LCD that has the parameters I need to work on, I am really finding this to be a real-time, performance friendly synth. T...

SERVICE YOU CAN COUNT ON :)

:D John had sent me a black SOLARIS (which was on my original order). However, I had changed my order after because my wife (a musician also) insisted that we get a white SOLARIS. Well, after I got the black SOLARIS I got a note from John when I mentioned it and shortly a WHITE SOLARIS arrived. I wa...

Re: If you could own the Solaris and only 3 other synths for

Hi, Along with my SOLARIS, the three synths I would keep are (1) the Rhodes Chroma ( with the 96 Knob Enabler ), (2) the CS-80, and, (3) the KYMA Pacarana. The ModCan modular that I already own is a polyphonic modular configuration so it can do any synth out there as it has all the filters, the VCO'...

Re: Your views on the overall feel?

Overall feel = Pristine, superb, solid. I like the keyboard now that I got used to it - slightly different action to the other "plastics" I have but good and solid, not sluggish, a nice feel.

Re: We need more Solaris videos!

I will be at Messe 2013, yes...located in the same booth as the last 2 years with Moog and Schmidt synthesizers. The 2nd build of Solaris is not yet done. But has it at least started? Yes - I got my SOLARIS as I guess by now everyone knows :) And, I promise to update and post a new SOLARIS video ve...

Re: Andromeda owners and Solaris , please share your thought

Now that I finally got the SOLARIS and I compared it to the ANDROMEDA - if you need to make a choice about which to purchase, get the SOLARIS - it can do everything the Andromeda does and more as well as give you the PPG sounds ... I posted elsewhere on this but since I have both I figured I should ...

Re: ABOUT SELLING MY NEW SOLARIS - A DECISION AFTER 3 YEARS

The Feedback to the Mixers, and AM1/AM2, and AP3 Filter are just not available in any synth, maybe Reaktor might pull it off but not with the sound quality. FWIW, I know folks get upset at SonicCore, but I gave them money for over a year in advance to get serial # 001 for the XITE-1. They are slow ...
