I wouldn't call them breathtaking. I had four days and at the end of it John really need to get the prototype back. I wish I could have spent more time and developed patches using the rotors (barely touched on that). When you make your demos it would be great if you showed off the Waldorf stuff. I d...

Solaris Prototype Demonstration Number Four
This will probably be the last one as John needs to get the Prototype back (tomorrow!). I recreated the intro from his own demo that he did for the Prophet-5 in 1978 .. using the Solaris, of course (or is it?) No .. all sounds are from the Solaris. Same Solaris drum kit and more comb filter fun and ...

Its really awesome .. one of my plans for my Solaris is having it on a stereo effects loop on my mixer .. I don't know of any other 'flanger' of 'phaser' that comes close to this sound. Ever run two tapes with the same material and the played with the speed control on one of them? Thats what I hear ...

Solaris Prototype Demonstration Number Three
All sounds generated by the Solaris. I used an MPC-1000 to arrange the percussion. No pitch changes or filtering outside of the Solaris. The Sine bass and interval/filter sweep (which I think is a Prophet-5 preset anyway!) are two presets I'm working on. This tune make such use of the Comb Filter th...

In my brief experience with the hardware, the synth attempts to do what no synth should try: the end-all synthesizer synthesis. The good news is, its actually achieving that! It can sound like a Waldorf, a VS and it can sound like a Prophet-5. And in my (humble) opinion its sounding more like a Prop...

Solaris Prototype Demonstration Number Two
Here is musical demonstration number two on the latest Solaris Prototype. video: http://vimeo.com/3316714 audio: http://redmartian.com/solaris/SOLARIS-DEMO-TWO.m4a I get a little more time to work with it.
