Yikes! That is a lot! Thanks.John Bowen wrote:We did decide to limit it currently to 128 Banks, since that's the MIDI spec. Originally we had no limit, but it seemed unnecessary - 128 banks seemed to be enough.

Re: Proper data structure for Solaris Presets
Is there a limit to the number of banks? Patches are limited to 128, I do believe, but I have no recollection of seeing a bank limit. Sorry if this is a trivial question.John Bowen wrote:(Where N following Bank is the next available bank number in your Preset folder).

Preset highlight is off by nine when in list mode
If you are in the list mode of presets and on the first item in the list and then step backward with the "-" button the screen changes to the previous ten presets (which is correct) but highlights the first, instead of the last. The last preset is nevertheless the one active so function is...

About the Hold function
I was playing with an apreggiator preset, 2.13 "CL Stash ARP", when I noticed that the Hold function in the Arp screen behaves a bit odd: Switch to the Arp screen and turn the Hold encoder slowly and you will notice that Hold button LED lights up but the status on the graphical screen is s...

Odd thing with preset 2.11
I was fiddling around with the presets and stumbled across 2.11 - "CL 90s Minor Stab B". If I hit two keys at once at a fairly fast pace I get a rather random result (just once in a while do I get a tone) whereas if I do the same thing with only one key, everything works as expected. Pecul...

Radikal Technologies Accelerator or DSI P12
I am in the process of renewing my rig and I am considering yet another instrument, in addition to the Solaris. My first thought was the DSI Prophet 12 which seems to be a very capable instrument. I had a chance to play on one a couple of times at my local music store and I must admit I liked what I...

Bank encoder interferes with MIDI clock
I have just played with an Origin connected to the Solaris where the origin has a sequence that is gated, i.e., it starts running when I press a key. I set the Solaris to send MIDI clock so I can run both sequencers in parallell - great fun! MIDICtrl - On ClkSrc - Send But, when I keep a key down, t...

Re: The volume control sends MIDI
The Origin is the only thing plugged in, which is done via proper MIDI. I have not noticed (I tried this) that turning the volume knob on the Origin has any effect on the Solaris.

Re: The volume control sends MIDI
Did you try turning off MIDI Volume on the MIDI page? (SYSTEM/MIDI) I have experimented with this and am rather confused. Today I played for a while and everything worked - I could turn either volume knob and there was no interference. I then tried to set the MIDI volume to ON but nothing happened....

The volume control sends MIDI
It seems as if the volume control sends MIDI. This is a bit of a bother for me, since I plan to use the Solaris as a MIDI controller as well and one way to handle such a setup is to be able to turn the volume knob manually, thus phasing out the Solaris in favour for the MIDI synth. Now, I tried this...

Re: display screens gets weird like "##@`!!!!"
Bother! Wish I had seen this thread before - I had this particular nuisance happen to me today and I have no idea what I did. It only affected the OSC screen and nothing on the others. Oh, that is, apart from a few remaining artifacts on the main screen that was rather odd. I have now been warned an...

Re: RGB Backlit for modulation / pitch wheels
I think the tempo flashing may be more fun than the color changing, but I'm sure both are attractive to users. The colour changing would actually be rather useful. I had an incident at a gig where I had accidentally moved the mod wheel of my Blofeld while sound checking. That changed the behaviour ...

Re: RGB Backlit for modulation / pitch wheels
Hi All, Current features are: 1. both wheels' positions can be scanned. 2. based on that information modulation wheel changes the color in the range from blue to red depending on the position. 3. pitch wheel now is static blue. 4. circuit recognize incoming MIDI clock (on hw midi port only) 5. base...

Re: Waldorf XTk
I have both the Microwave XT (Rack) and the Solaris - and love them both, and would never sell either of them. I have the XT rack but never got around to really play with it. I also have a Solaris with my name on it, albeit not here right now. Has to be built first... My main reason for aski...
