Solaris - Great Britain - anyone managed it?

Post by Little Gorilla »

Hello - I was wondering if anyone has managed to get one of these fantastically intriguing instruments to Great Britain. I'd love to have one but the whole business of shipping, customs and large sums of money makes me extremely nervous. If you have indeed got one over here please do share your experience. Many thanks.

I've got one on order. No sign yet. Coming from Germany via Thomann.

Oh, thanks - sorry you haven't got yours yet. Thomann seem very reliable, in my experience.

However...they don't have the Solaris listed at all anymore. I think - though I'm not absolutely certain - that a few weeks ago you got the "...is not part of our product range anymore" message if you searched for Bowen or Solaris but now it's not even that! Just...zilch.

Perhaps when another production run gets going, or a bit closer at least, they'll list it again. But usually even stuff that won't be in for ages- Cwejman etc - gets some sort of acknowledgement on their site. Some suggestion that they may, at some point, sell that product should it be available to them.

Did you have to put in a special request or something like that?

Anyway - I dare say that if they ship from Germany rather than America it's a bit easier for us in Britain. Please tell me they don't come from Germany to Britain via the U.S.

Thanks again then, hope yours is along soon.

There are 4 now in the UK - 3 were shipped in 2011, and the 4th we sent out last Friday, so it should be there now. These were all units pre-ordered from my Web site, which is the best way to know for sure that you will get a unit.

The current production #2 is all sold. Sometimes I do get cancellations at the last minute, however.

I better pray that Thomann comes through with the goods then!

When will you have finished this run and any idea when run 3 might be?

Hope the sausages and beer are good.

All the best!

Thanks John. Your site would seem to be the way to do it. But I need to wait until August to sign up for the list - is that correct? If I did order from you would it come from Germany straight here, do you know? (Here being the U.K., of course).
Weston - hoping here that Thomann do the business.
Thanks again.

LG,

1) I'm not sure yet when I will open the next pre=order list.

2) Yes, the units are built and shipped from Germany to all customers around the world.

Thanks for your interest in the Solaris!
