Closed:Boot preset is Preset 1, not Preset 0

Post by John Bowen »

An email today reminded me to post this - when you first boot up the Solaris, it displays Preset 0, but loads the data for and plays Preset 1. Only by entering Preset 0 (via Inc/Dec or pressing Enter) will you load the correct data for Preset 0.

This happens because originally Preset 1 was the first preset in a bank. The boot routine was coded to load Preset 1, and this is separate from the display routine. Later I requested that the Preset numbering be changed to start with 0, as this made more sense for MIDI Program Select and just keeping things straight when looking at the CF card on my computer. They did change the numbering, and the display code shows the name of Preset 0 (as it should) on boot up - but they forgot to change the DSP loading routine to get the data for Preset 0, leaving it pointed at Preset 1!

A simple fix, when the next OS is released.
