Overheated Tubes

Post by scope4live »

I was sad to hear that Mitch Mitchell died last week while on tour up in the Northwest.
Since I can't do virtual drums anywhere close to that trendsetter, I thought I'd just try and get the Noel Redding / Jimi Hendrix sound using Solaris w/ light distortion and heavy Tube filtering.
I like the meat of the sound, but have no idea where I would use this.
But it is still fun to try and do things I am not use to doing when practicing, so there it is.

Hey jimmy thanks for whetting our appetite for Solaris with this demo but I hate to think you might've set your keyboard on fire afterwards!

I won't bore you guys with more on this sound, as it went over like a turd in a punchbowl, but my softube feedback VST fx is used in a channel insert which has some great feedback like old Blue Cheer/Hendrix & Nugent. When I bring the effect in w/ the expression pedal, it's programmed in Scope so when I push forward for the max effect, Solaris fades and my choice of harmonics/feedback are crossfaded.
My Guitarist hates it.....I think I know why.

Ahhh this talk of guitar feedback and Tedly Nugent reminds of one of the greatest feedback riffs in musical history and that is the guitar feedback in Journey to the Center of my Mind by the Amboy Dukes (Ted Nugent era). :D

Indeed, ....the Amboy Dukes !!!

If you love that stuff try and find Vincebus Eruptum album by Blue Cheer.
They were the original artists who recorded Summertime Blues before the Who ever even heard of it.

Our Time Is Near !! :D
