Just getting started...
An "oscillator slop" parameter to loosen up the tuning.
Power-up returns you to last preset selected.

Re: Just getting started...
The 'slop' or 'random' or 'humanize' parameter was intended long ago, but we never got to the final decision as to how to best implement it, however, it's still in the plan.
You can read about the various implementations I've posted here: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=887

Re: Just getting started...
A random variable with a random variable range parameter would do it - this is easy to add in code, and easy to turn on per parameter --- I would urge a "global" mode with few templates (like osc freq's and VCA attack) although also having the mode for each parameter is nice. A tradeoff is a master model with some templates (like freq/VCA and freq/VCA/VCF or freq/VCF etc... ).

Re: Just getting started...
Not really that easy to add (turn on) for every parameter! But this statement made me think about a possible way - how about using the sidechain controls for each mod source (the Control and Strength parameters) where you just have a Random Control source, and the strength affects how much random deviation you get? This would be the easiest, and I think would achieve the result. (A bit more work to add it where you want, instead of an overall 'slop' parameter like DSI has, which would be your Master or Global mode.)

Re: Just getting started...
Agreed.
I think you have it
In reality, the "amount" of random should have a fine grain of control (i.e. not integer units of 1 to 100, but at least two decimals because our ears are incredibly sensitive to "pitch" variance).
I like your idea a lot!!!

Yes, I have also said this to them several times during the specification, explaining exactly that - our ears are very sensitive to pitch variations, more so than any other parameter, and how we needed better/finer resolution for the modulation.

VCO : pitch drift and start phase offset between voices
VCF : FC and FC keyboard tracking offset, Q offset betwenn voices
This "analog feel" parameters must be stored in each preset - not globally

Re: Just getting started...
Absolutely agree- especially VCO phase offset, and storing with preset.

Re: Just getting started...
I would still like it if the Solaris could bring up the last used preset on Power Up, is this possible?

Re: Just getting started...
No idea....you would think so, since it currently picks Preset 0.00 as a default. Just a value that is updated every time you select a new preset, since the synth never knows when you are about to turn it offmarzzz wrote:I would still like it if the Solaris could bring up the last used preset on Power Up, is this possible?
