Just a silly question to elaborate on the potential DSP power of the SOLARIS: what type number and clockrate of the ADI DSP are used by the SOLARIS ?

John ?

Wish a happy and successfull new year !!!

Sorry, I can't tell you for sure at this point, as I think we are changing the part.

On the Functional Block Diagram for ADSP-21369 it states that there's a customer definable ROM Block.
I was curious if that's where certain functions were stored and updated, or what it's purpose was for.

So the type of DSP used is just the same as the one used on the UAD 2 boards... good choice !!!

So the SOLARIS has "just" the DSP power of 1 UAD2 quad + 1 UAD2 Duo !!!

Yes Guys, just 15 time the power of 1 UAD1 board...

Ouch !

And just for a reminder:
- UAD2 quad entry price is: $ 1,499
- UAD2 duo entry price is: $ 899
so an equivalent system cost $ 2,398

... and as no built in user interface and no synth plugs

Just remind us the MRSP price of the SOLARIS John.

I would call the SOLARIS HW a bargain in term of tech specs.
