selling the great white...

I hate to do this, but I'm in a bind for some dollars.
If there's any interest, I have a white one, clear wheels (no leds).
I think I'm #13/14/15 or 16, although I never got the sticker.

Let me know if I should delete this post and post somewhere else...

thanks,

Re: Your views on the overall feel?

Oh yes. The ribbon is quite good. The mod wheels turned out very good. And aftertouch on the keyboard is a great thing. Selector buttons are high quality as well.

They are doing a good job putting these together. A+

synth+FX as modulator

Idea is to get FX-output as an OSC modulator. So on Solaris, I gave this a shot and plugged the Out1 and Out2 into Ext 1 and Ext2 with some cables. And set Ext1 as a MOD to OSC1. Seems to work. (Probably want to do this with Out 3/4 if you are normally using 1/2.) (There may be an easier way to do t...

Re: D50 Tricks

Yeah, it does seem like we have most of the D50 pieces. I.E. wave shapes + oscillators.

Kind of relatedly, I always loved the Prophet VS so I'm going to start playing around with that
a bit tonight. Vector OSC and Joystick.

here's a simple fattening method (feedback)...

One easy way to control the sound is have multiple oscillators into 1 mixer. Then you can just use one filter. Then to make it fat, just put mixer1 as the fourth input to the mixer. Instant massive fatness. Works really well. [ I just noticed this is mentioned in the manual. :) I just got a bad case...

Re: Announce when you receive your Solaris!

Looks like mine just shipped... Now that's the kind of news that will put some led in your pencil!

Mine should be a white one as well. (Us old foggies ordered white to help with our blurry, old eyes.)

Re: Mod & Audio Sources for Solaris

Got it. Looks outstanding. Thanks for the explanation. I went back and read one of the old manuals. It looks like a short-hand way of saying all this is: generally speaking, you can mod almost everything by everything, except for a number of Control parameters. So while control parameters can still ...

Re: Mod & Audio Sources for Solaris

Just started to look at this...

First question: I notice there are 83 items in #1, and 83 in #2. Aren't those two lists the same, just sorted differently? The thing I would verify first is if Oscillators and modulate the Frequency of Oscillators... even for example, a Rotor modulating a Rotor...

Re: My favorite bits...

Yeah, I have an expectation of what it will sound like. I was a long-time Creamware Scope user. So I'm hoping it will sound as good as that stuff did, and I expect it will. The MiniMax and Profit stuff sounded great. And I had John's QWave which is a pretty mind-bending plugin. But I prefer to sit i...

Re: Diagram Flow

Got it. Thanks for the explanation. Good point about the other outs as well. Using a clean channel does not rob an FX slot. Good to know. As for the volume only on outs 1/2, that makes sense as well. I think that anybody who is using the multiple outputs is going to have their own "knob" o...

My favorite bits...

Now that we are about to lift-off, I thought it might be time to chime in on the unusual features that raise the level of the synth. 1. the CS80 ribbon behavior 2. LFO delay and extra settings 3. feedback, overdrive, and decimation 4. the looper envelopes 6. the control shaper 7. the variable saw 8....

Re: Diagram Flow

So to the right of the Amp paths, I think we have an implied mixer that sums the 4 paths into what is called "Synth". Since the AMPs have PAN then "Synth" is a stereo channel. So the FX operate on the stereo input. (Correct me if any of that is wrong.) If you only use, for exampl...

Re: Independently pannable voices for Solaris ?

Just to chime in... each of the paths has a VCA. And each of the VCA's has PAN control. So from a simplistic view, wouldn't it be true that there is already pan control... albeit limitted to the total of 4, as in 4 VCA's available for pan modulation... ?
