I wasn't able to find it; I thought it might be useful to promote the synth using the networking tool but all I find are Sun Solaris etc. groups.

I knew my house sale was taking too long. And it finishes next month... however, the 2999 Euro price is not changed? And the pound is getting stronger vs. the Euro again... so maybe. I've abandoned hope for the 88 key model and have a bigger studio. Maybe I'll get a regular one, see how it is and if...

PolyAT would be great but is insanely expensive. Graded piano keybed is essential, but so little uses PolyAT effectively that I don't care.

See, I really get sick of workstations. Workstations do nothing well and are severely outclassed by software; most people are using computers now for that side of things. Likewise Romplers; those can be in racks for all I care, my XV lives in a rack, all the stuff in my Trinity could easily be in a ...

anyone who wants can buy a weighted 88 and connect it to Solaris .... cant he And then you've got the space of a 61 key synth AND an 88-key controller which doesn't have the ribbon or joystick control directly connected... which is precisely what I wanted to avoid. Just had an offer on the house, s...

:?: Restarting the main topic: Is there no real interest for a 88 key weighted keyboard? Anyone? I think it looks like I'm out on a limb here, sadly, so I either have to DIY, pay a lot for a one-off, or find another solution. If my house had sold now and I had the spare cash I'd have put down the d...

Racks lack expressiveness IME. I want the controllers to hand.

I addressed that in a comment elsewhere suggesting I'd want a rackmount synth, but then a plug in controller with X-Y, ribbon and perhaps patch selection as a small desktop unit, as remapping controllers is a PITA.

This would of course only be available for the Limited Edition preorder customers. Surely the process of productionising the synth would allow refinements to the mechanical engineering. IME, if you want screwless end-cheeks, you need to support the top internally - so what would be essentially a 2-...

Hey, that gives me an idea! I still have my SX-64 in the closet - maybe we'll make the Solaris Editor work solely on that? :D john b. Now that's thinking outside the box! I'd have used an SX64 for the SID/MSSIAH setup but they're really very expensive now - also, it would be sacrilege. Seriously, i...

Racktop! No, I'm not just babbling words. The problem with a desktop is you gotta fit the synth in it. You can probably fit it all in a deep 2U rack, but then where's the interface? So what about a small-but-deep rack module, and a lightweight controller module for the desktop? I know it's two cases...

I can't say regarding the Virus B - I only played with the TI - but I would say the Virus has more 'hardness' to it - I don't know how else to describe it in my mind. -john b. I moved to a Virus after a Supernova II; I'd been trying to work with a Roland JX10 (the synth that convinced me that reall...

The more I read and learn about the Solaris the more I want one. VS, PPG... and my gut feeling is that careful work with samples and response will give it a stunning piano as well as the pure synthesis stuff. I am unbelievably into it. Richard, just a brief reminder here - the sample RAM planned is...

At present the demand for Solaris is in unchartered waters, we have no idea how many units will be purchased in the future, so it seems to me to be talking about an 88 keyboard is much too early, however, if enough customers would be willing to pay the extra amount and it would mean putting Solaris...
