This is great news!

Will you be able to use the sequencer / arpeggiator on select parts and turn these off for other parts?
Yes.

Re: Multitimbrality

do you think the patch chain will still be valid? (.. which I find really fun!! ..) please!! :-) We’ve been discussing this, as it does present a significant challenge to the new structure. I’m afraid we will probably be unable to continue with this feature, although you will be able to duplicate 4...

Re: How to load samples into Solaris

Jim that was fast! I was just trying to find the link on the OS section! Here it is: 1) Sample Load routine - Instead of loading samples from the System page, as we have done, now the loading is done within the Preset, on Home page 3, parameter named 'SmpPool'. Each preset can now store the sample p...

Re: Multitimbrality

Very good news John, both the new OS and the expander! I was wondering if the expander could be used as a "regular second solaris" : with one solaris keyboard unit, we will be able to have up to 4 parts if I understood well. Thus, with two solaris keyboard units, we can have up to 8 parts. Will the...

Re: Multitimbrality

V2.0 will read the v1 presets just fine. It’s just the reverse you cannot do. All V2 presets are 4 times the size of V1 presets, and have all the extra parameters for Multimode.

Re: Multitimbrality

Indeed that looks very very nice. Thank you for the preview and the continued work on the OS! I am not sure if I understood correctly: will the multi presets be a new kind of object stored on the CF card? If yes, will they point to the single presets, or will they contain an independent copy of the...

Re: Multitimbrality

Here’s a short video showing a bit of the new Multimode OS that Jim is working on. I’ve had a number of requests about it, so I thought the best way to explain it would be to demo it in a video.

Re: Sequencer section broken on Xite! Will it ever be fixed?

Unfortunately this has nothing to do with the plug-in construction, but rather, the sequencer module itself, over which I have no control.

Any update on what ins-and-outs are going to be on the rear of the rack ?
Yes, it’s exactly the same main board that is in your keyboard version, so all of the same ins and outs.

Re: Solaris Expander Announced

Voices are not freely assignable across the DSPs. Each DSP can play 2 voices of one sound. Unfortunately, yes, a monophonic patch will still require one DSP, so you do “lose” a voice (unless your mono patch is using Unison, in which case you have a 2 voices stack). While a software editor is planned...

Re: Solaris Expander?

Only even voice numbers are possible because each of 5 DSP chips produce 2 voices (the 6th DSP manages the FX and output routing). The parameters for a program are downloaded to the chip when selected, and so each one plays 2 voices with the same settings. (Technically we could have 5 parts playing ...

Re: Solaris Expander?

Are several 1HU or desktop and rackmount version cascadable for more polyphony ? How will announced 4-part MIDI multimode/multitimbrality work across several (at least 2) units when cascaded ? Yes, you can cascade several units using Poly Chain mode, and it works the same way with the new Multimode...

Re: Solaris Expander?

I found the Studiologic SL controllers (73 or 88 keys) which have 3 joysticks. I was hoping to borrow one for the NAMM show, but was too late in contacting them. Chris Martirano said the 3rd joystick should be able to assign to any CC. I was aware of the Kurzweil ribbon, of course, but we’d need to ...
