The Solaris started out as a plugin for Scope hardware, and you can still purchase it from Sonic Core:

I believe most of the modules that are representative of functions in the Solaris keyboard are also available as modular units in the Scope Modular ...

Re: "No CF-Card found"
When you boot up the Solaris without any CF card, does it play normally? Just wanting to make sure the main board is not bricked.

Re: "No CF-Card found"
This can happen if the Solaris doesn’t recognize the format of the card. When you reformatted the card, what format did you use?

Re: v2.2 OS released!
And I’d like to proudly point out - how many other synths that have been out there for 10+ years do you see still getting updates with new functions, etc.? My intention with the Solaris User Interface was always to have an extremely flexible system which could grow over time, and I feel it has ...

Re: v2.2 OS released!
John,
Glad to hear this is coming out but just FYI there is no link on the owner portal to the V2.2.0 OS file or an addendum if one has been created to document the new features/changes.
Yes, sorry about that! I had some problems getting the files uploaded, but they are both there in the ...

v2.2 OS released!
Jim Hewes (minorguy) has finished the next update to the Solaris OS, now at v2.2.0.
Just to note - all v2.x operating systems are only available on the Owner’s Portal, which does require a suggested donation of $60/50 euros to join, which goes towards funding Jim’s volunteer work.

Re: Were any of the John Bowen/Zarg Scope Synths used in Eiffel 65's third Italian Album?
I don’t have any way of knowing all of the people who purchased my plugins, because in the later years Sonic Core handled all sales for them. Also, just the presets alone won’t be enough to know, as I’m sure artists such as Eiffel 65 would be making their own sounds to fit the music they were ...

New Rev 2 Solaris Hardware!
For those who don’t know, we are working on the first ever hardware revision of the Solaris, since it was released in 2011! The new board will use the latest compatible SHARC DSP chips, and will also add the ability to use the new Fatar Polyphonic Aftertouch keyboard.
Previous Solaris owners will ...

Re: Limited, Double Poly Mode
Dynamic allocation would be great, but it seems that it was not practical for this project. I'm not sure why.
We are fixed to the architecture as we have it now, but the new Rev 2 board should give us a few more voices.

How To Load Samples Addendum
There has been some confusion due to the changes made in the Solaris OS some years ago, but never clearly documented, so I have put this Addendum together. Let me know if you have any additional questions regarding the Sample Pool load process.
